July 18, 2008 TheHellion’s Guide to Rock, Part 2: Finding Bandmates

Our author with VAGIANT’s drummer and resident troublemaker LoWreck.
Welcome, dear readers, to another installment of TheHellion’s Guide to Starting a Band. Forgive the lateness of this latest edition – I’ve been super busy with band stuff (read: sighing a lot, occasionally writing a chord name on a piece of paper, and watching season 2 of Golden Girls on repeat.) There’s no other way to deal with one of the greatest bands in rock history—and according to a Guinness record set in the 70’s, the loudest in history as well.

Guitarist Pete Townshend and singer Roger Daltrey themselves helped select our 12-song Who pack, which spans the band’s 40-year history and includes some of the essential hits…along with some equally great tracks that may be less familiar. For those who aren’t up on the full story, we present this brief course in Who 101:
