Deftones Debut on Rock Band with Three-Pack

Ahh, the awesome DLC, it doesn’t stop!  This week the Deftones will be gracing Rock Band with their presence with three amazing songs from two amazing albums.

Since the early '90s, the Deftones have been evolving their sound drastically with every album, and within each album is an even more diverse collection.  Whether you like heavy riffs and aggressive vocals, happier melodies with upbeat lyrics or slow and atmospheric tunes, there is something for everyone in their discography.  I personally love the acoustic versions of their heavier songs.

Vocalist Chino Moreno has such a distinctive and unique style, and TONS of energy.  We’re giving you three fairly mellow and melodic picks this week, but look out for the high-pitched screams at the end of “Cherry Waves”.  I don’t know how Chino still has a voice at all.

“Minerva” comes from their self-titled album released in 2003, with “Hole in the Earth” and “Cherry Waves” coming from its successor, Saturday Night Wrist, released in 2006.

Along with the Deftones we’ve got “The Great Escape” from Boys Like Girls.  You may remember trying to water some crops to their song in LEGO Rock Band, no?  Also the L.A.-based Crown of Thorns are giving us “Rock Ready”, which has a very rock anthem feel and should be a fun one to play.

These tracks will be available June 8th. Individual tracks will be $1.99 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and $2.00 on Wii. The Deftones tracks will also be available as Deftones Pack 01 for $5.49 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. To discuss this DLC, please visit the official discussion thread in the Rock Band forums.
