As everybody knows, the number eleven figures heavily in Spinal Tap history; it’s the one inscribed on Nigel Tufnel’s sacred amplifier and it’s that little something extra that you need when the urge to rock absolutely demands it. So when we set out to give you a Spinal Tap ten-pack, a little voice in our ear - reminiscent of those elves that dance around Stonehenge - just kept whispering that magic word “eleven”. And when we set out to deliver the package, lo and behold, there were eleven tracks in it.
Speaking of “Stonehenge,” that mythic epic is one of the tracks. So are time-honored Tap classics “Hell Hole,” “Tonight I’m Gonna Rock You Tonight,” “Big Bottom” and lots more. The legendary band recently came together to make Back From the Dead, an album that mixed new material with remakes of vintage Tap. We delivered four of the new songs as DLC last month, and now it’s time for the greatest hits.
Thrill to the new, funky spin they throw on the ecological anthem “Sex Farm!” Groove to the '60s R&B stylings of “Gimme Some Money!” And for once, you won’t have to worry about doing a bass-off with your bandmates, when you’re playing "Big Bottom," everybody wins.
In case you hadn’t heard, Spinal Tap completed their world reunion tour - all one night of it - in London last month. They played all the classics, the drummer survived, and they capped the show at Wembley with a shout of “Thank you, Wimbledon!”
