Two Years of the Rock Band Network

Another year has come and gone, and it’s now the second anniversary of the Rock Band Network Store! Since launching in 2010, the RBN has added more than 1600 songs from more than 800 artists to the Rock Band catalogue*. That’s more than 15 songs a week!

Some key statistics from the past year (March 1, 2011 to February 29, 2012):

Whether you’re looking for pop-rock or punk rock, hip hop or hair metal, or classical, nerdcore, symphonic metal, rockabilly, and chiptune - the RBN has options for you. Many songs are in English, but the RBN welcomes international artists and there are songs available in French, Italian, Spanish, and German. Additionally, many RBN songs are available for only 80 MSP ($0.99 on PS3), so you won’t break the bank!

* The full Rock Band Network catalogue is only available for Xbox 360. Select songs are submitted to the PS3 by Sony and Harmonix at the rate of 5 songs a week, as determined by factors such as popularity and community interest. To respond to the lack of German while appealing to anyone with ears, why not do some of the Hoff's material! That is the best music evar. I would buy, "Jump in My Car!"

"Slaughterhouse, Obituaries and a Love Story" by Arcadia contains lyrics in Italian. However, I think you're right about German - I was thinking of the two songs by We Butter The Bread With Butter, only to be reminded that they're still in peer review. My apologies, and thank you for the catch!

In contrast to the article, there haven't been any Italian or German RBN songs released yet, but congratulations nonetheless.
