I’m a little embarrassed about this video for reasons that will become obvious when you watch it. I am actually not very good at Rock Band.
People who have seen me play actual guitar at an actual live show will know that I make a lot of mistakes in that setting, too, so I guess it's not that surprising. I tried to set it at Medium difficulty, but of course, the crowd wanted blood, and blood they got. I was the worst one in my band. But in spite of me losing all my gamer cred in one fell swoop, there was a lot of excitement in the crowd at this panel.
The Harmonix people were giddy, too. When Caleb Epps hit that last button to send the freshly-authored song to the Xbox, I think he was a little worried it wasn't going to work. We were all thrilled when it did, which just goes to show how ready everyone is for the Rock Band Network. In a few years, it's going to seem crazy that this was ever not an option. This finally gives all the bands clamoring to get into Rock Band access to the platform, allowing them to connect with fans.
