Will this game have that annoying HDTV lag that GH has? If so, i need to find a new TV because i can't play GH2 on my Xbox in the HDTV i have. I've tried calibrating it, but it still doesn't work...

The game does not have any Lag, its your screen.
I can play GH2 on my HDTV or my CRT, its all the same to me, I calibrated the lag but it said lag is 0, which doesnt make sense as all panels have some lag (delay)
I guess your average panel that you buy nowadays is probably quoted at around 8ms, some of the newer ones are quoted at 4ms. This figure is a bit misleading as they way the panels are measured (sometimes at Max luminance) is not how they are used. So the actual delay is probably higher during normal use than the quoted figure.
Also, LCDs and Plasmas have processors in them to get this information from the source, decode it and matrix it to the panel, and some do it better than others, so even if you had a 0ms panel (which dont exist) the HDTV itself could be slow at displaying the image.
Plasmas have phosphurs and gas as opposed to LEDs, so they have a much lower decay time, and as such don't have any figurs for 'lag'. But that is just the panel, the actual electronics in the unit could still be slow.
I had a 32" LCD panel until recently, it was a Hyundai, and I did get a bit of lag with that (the game said 20ms I think when calibrating) but now I have an LG 37" LCD and I get no lag (noticable) at all, which is great.
Hope this helps.

I have lag on my 27" HDTV when the 360 sound is played through the TV, however if I play the sound through an external source such as a 5.1 system, a CD Player or even another TV the sound and picture match up perfectly.

When you say lag, do you mean the audio and video are out of sync? or just that the sounds of the notes, and acutally trying to hit the notes is out?
Didnt say that very well did I? Are the notes on the screen seen and heard at the same time, but out of sync with the guitar. Or are the notes on screen out of sync with the audio?

The notes on the screen were out of sync with the audio. I'd either have to play just before, or just after (Can't remember which) the notes were due.

try dropping the resolution you run your xb in to its lowest, you might find the delay gets less.

I think I'll stick with 720p and my external 5.1 solution. I will try it later with my VGA cable to see if it works though.

Another way to alleviate lag is (as WildWalker touched on with the tv's algorithms and processing) to check what res your HDTV runs at natively.. A lot will say they do this and that, but at the end of the day still have to scale it up or down to the one res it does native.
If you set your console or reciever to send the same res signal as your hdtv's native, there won't be any needed processing and extra delay added on top

I use the VGA cable, so maybe it will help.

Good idea, worth a try :)

I calibrated my screen, and random numbers came up, from 80-120 came up. I couldn't fix it, so i don't know what to do...

Have you tried any of the solutions posted in this thread?
