its been bitter sweet to see all these technical issues from just one game. on one hand i am not alone in my misery, on the other, it sucks to see the problem so widespread.
like most of you, i picked up my PS3 bundle on tuesday and opened the box to see a bright pink ATTENTION disclaimer warning me that the bundle periphals "may" have problems. everything for the most part works, except the drum pedal. ive connected it to the back of the 4 drum pad set and nothing. the pedal mechanically moves fine but nothing registers in-game. has anyone else run into this problem? has there been any solutions besides writing to EA to replace?
thx.

Unfortunately, I had the same problem with my pedal, and the only thing I could do is get a replacement, so I can only play easy without failing until I get it...:(

You guys may be in for a nasty surprise. I had the same problem with the PS3 version, and called a friend to bring his drumset over so we could play anyways. We decided to check the bass pedal on his set, worked fine. Tried both pedals on my drum set, neither worked, turns out it was the drum set. Which is weird because all the pads were working fine, no lag, etc. Hope this isn't the problems you guys have or you're going to be even longer without drums.

You only have to pay $100 if you don't send the unbroken piece back within 28 days. Read more carefully next time.

great! *sigh*. thanks for the heads up though mate. i will cross my fingers to hope its just a unique problem with the pedal. the 4 pads actually work on the drum set. did your 4 drum pad work and not the drum pedal?
i might as well get a replacement for the drums too then...
hell. might as get replacements for everything...

I have similar problems that I created a post about. Everything about my drum kit works fine, except for the pedal.
At random times after a couple songs, the bass pedal cuts out and is totally untresponsive, no matter what I do, and then within a minute it works again briefly and then works again. It just has to be a losse wire but I;m not sure if it's loose int he pedal or in my drum kit.
For return purposes I hope its the pedal, but I just want to be able to knbow what part is wrong so I can get ti fixed asap. 1/3rd of the gameplay I spent more money on than any other game before Is being wasted because of a defective product,

You know since my pedal works "here and there" I fear this is going to be my issue as well. I have to wait until I get the new bass pedal though. I know when I read the review on Ars Technica and they mentioned the bass pedal I just knew I was going to end up with a problem.
I'm still waiting for a shipment confirmation as I would think my pedal should either arrive today or at the very least be shipped out.

Yeah, all the pads worked fine, and it took me a few songs to realize the pedal was broken. I figured I just wasn't hitting it right, finally went into practice and just started wailing on it. But my pedal never worked, didn't get one kick out of it, so if you guys were getting a few here and there maybe it was just the pedal.

Easier said then done. Everyone within 50 miles of me is sold out of the PS3 version, I'm in this thing for enough money without having to buy an Xbox.

just going to bump this so when the pedal arrives either today/tomorrow/wednesday, it will be a heads-up for those who have the same problem.... pedal not working straight out of the box.
my concern now is that its not the pedals fault, but the main drum kit.
only time will tell.

bump -
as i suspected. the fully mechanically functioning pedal replacement doesnt register on the drum set. which leaves me deduce that although the 4 pads are working on the set, the connection of both my pedals to the set must be awry.
i just ordered another drum set. unless anyone knows a solution?
