So I picked up Rock Band as soon as the store opened on Tuesday and proceded to be the lead singer in our band since I'm the only one of my friends who is remotely capable of singing. 5 hours later I couldn't talk. It's 3 days later now and I'm still missing 50%+ of my vocal range.
So does anyone have any tips so that this doesn't happen again and we can keep the vocal difficulty above easy? (Other than don't sing for so long, which is obvious at this point and an option of last resort =P) Either I'll have to figure something out or drag one of my female friends to the apartment so we can trade off.

Well, you can turn the mic sensitivity up so you don't have to sing as loud. I hardly bring my voice to a great volume when I play and it registers fine on default.
Try dropping an octave on songs if you can, that could help too, but it could be tricky.

I was 4* songs on medium left and right and I can't seem to pass "Orange Crush" to save my life. After I failed the 5th time around 75%, my voice started to go a little.
Thanks for the tip, I sing softer so I don't wake anyone up when I'm by myself and the icon arrow tends to fade out. I'll turn up the mic sensitivity.

You too!? Sheeze, I almost always 5 star vocals on medium and then Orange Crush comes along and tears me apart!

No matter what I do I can't get the arrow to go lower than what they want. I can always get it for the high parts but for the low parts I'm singing like Barry White and it's still not low enough.

I lost my voice after around 9 hours of playing with my friends.
It's to be expected. I could talk but no falsetto, it felt so weird.

Theres gotta be some kind of warm-up type thing that real singers do so they can sing for hours every night without half-assing it. If not I might have to have some kind of grudging respect for lead singers, and any respect for singers is blasphemy.
