I played for 5 hours tonight and not 1 person had a microphone....I was singing and it was so boring only one talking. Last night I played with these ppl and they all had mics and the leader let me pick all the songs b/c I was the "front man"......it was badarse!
do you all not know how to get the mic to work on guitar and drums or wut?

It could be worse.
Most games I join DO have the mike plugged into their drums or guitar. And they don't mute it, even when the song starts, and I get WRHRBRBRLRBLLLL static coming through my ear. Or worse, they're some hideous mouth breathing bastard and I get HHURRRRR... HURRRRR... over and over.
But... when they use it PROPERLY, muting it during songs and chatting between, it's a lot of fun.

I'm just not sure how it would work on PS3. Like, you can use any USB mic for singing, so I don't know how it would handle 2, or even 1 not for vocals.

That's great. I remember a couple years ago, when the PS2 network adapter came out, and I thought it was going to be so great to play games online with other people. But it never works out that way. For every 1 person that is cool to play with (particularly in games that involve strategy, like SOCOM), there are 20 little kids who are going through that phase where they think it's cool to curse like a sailor, and share their freestyle rapping skills.

I have a wireless headset.
The only time I can talk to other people is when I'm singing through the mic.
Sucks, but I don't really feel like buying a wired headset just to talk to people on Rock Band when I'm not singing.

Fanboy alert.
This "Fanboy" speaks words of truth and wisdom. If you want quality service, you need to pay for it. That is why both Nintendo WiFi and PSN are failures in comparison to Xbox Live.
And if you have to call me a fanboy, I'm a Nintendo/Microsoft fan, since Sony back stabbed us with their PS3 garbage. The only game the PS3 has that will EVER make me consider blowing $500 for the bare minimal, is for Kingdom Hearts 3. Or some other epicly awes.. no that's about all.

I, frankly, embrace the failure of PS3. Keeps my Sony fanboy friends quiet when I bring up... just about any game on that system.

I actually really enjoy rocking out with my mic and guitar, it's really fun on songs that I know by heart. I think as people get more comfortable with the game you'll find more that choose to do this.
And guys, lets kill the PS3 vs Xbox 360 chatter. There's no place for console wars here.

Me? I've got a mic stand, so I don't use the headset.

Really?
I didnt think the adapter was designed for it.
So you mean you don't have to use the adapter at all?
People couldn't hear me on live..maybe I need to register the drums as first player and have the headset as first player as well.
I'll go try that.

Yeah.
I just had to make sure the drums were first player as my wireless headset auto-sets to first player. Nice, thanks.
