Are there any real life drummers out there that are using this game as "research and development"? ;)

I consider myself a pretty decent drummer in real life but often find myself playing the same 3 or 4 'go to' fills over and over and just needed some new angle in learning and influence.

On the otherhand, I'd be quite impressed to hear any "non-drummers" who can nail 97% or more consistently on Level hard. There are sections on the Pixies' "Wave of Mutilation" where you have to utilize some "3 consecutive 16th note" technique while maintaining a kick drum pattern as well as an irregular drum snare fill. To you 'non-drummers', I salute you.

my lil bro, whos 12, got 98% on justice for all and he's in first place for that song solo on ps3. But...

He's been playing drums for about 5 years. Lol

I used to play drums in concert bands (aka one drum at a time usually) and used to have a drum set but never really practiced enough to get into it, but I'm starting to routinely gey 90%+ scores on hard (despite a broken index finger on my dominant hand:p) and am starting to regret selling the real set a few years back :(

Dang that's pretty darn impressive guys. My hardest parts are on the subtle fills between section. I finally figured out the off beat snare drum pattern right before Chorus two of the pixies song and got myself consistantly in the upper 90's.

I think Rock Band is going to make me a better musician. ;)

Anybody else having trouble deciphering drum fills on certain songs? I'd be interested in hearing about it...as I only really have about 6 songs under my belt(after all...I do have other things to do in my life besides Rock Band...although that's probably pretty morbid of me to say.)

Whoever isn't a drummer and can do these songs 90% + on Hard/Expert should buy a drumset. Now.

Ay. I'm about half way through the Hard career, but I feel like I'm just surviving it instead of getting better. Using the kick pedal on upbeats kills me just as much as it did when I started.

i finished the solo career today on medium. i got around 98 to 100% on all of the songs with the exception of one (i got a 96). i'm gonna move up to hard tomorrow.

does anyone else's leg hurt for about the first 10 to 20 minutes of play and then after that it feels fine? i've never played drums before and i expected there to be muscle aches in my legs but i think it's weird that it goes away if i just ignore the first 10 to 20 minutes of pain.

it's like any other form of physical activity, you should warm up first. I warm up my arms and legs for 5-10 mins before playing DM.

I totally agree! There are two main techniques in kick drum playing- heel up or heel down. Unfortunately for me, the RB pedal is favored the heel down players making us not so fortunate to adjust accordingly.

I'm hoping some hip drum company(perhaps DW or Porkpie) will create a kick pedal for the game that actually has a beater hitting up against a kick pad and as I've mentioned before in another thread: would actually give you an opportunity to put your virtual band logo on the other side of the pad :) I guess Harmonix needs to address some of the current standing issues first before other 3rd party players start jumping on to the phenomena. Thanks guys for your input. It's encouraged me to practice more and more ...thinking, "Man, I can't have these 'non-drummers' have one up on me" ;)

I am looking forward how RB interprets the bombastic snare drum fill in the Weezer song...most drummer know what I'm referring to.
