Guitar hero 3 guitar does not register

ive tried several different combinations on trying to fix it but no worky. please someone help me. when i play the multiplayer mode and it tells you to connect when I plug in my guitar hero 3 guitar nothing happens unlike when i plug in the guitar and drums it says push the selected button to join but when i plug in the guitar it shifts to the mic slot not the other guitar slot. so i disconnect them and plug in my controller and now the 3 and 4 slot is taken but when i plug in the guitar again the other guitar slot stays grey like it didnt register?:mad:

PS3's GH3 guitar is incompatible right now.

OMG!...DUDE, there are like a million threads stating that the GHIII PS3 Guitar does not work with rock band. I swear there should be a written test.
