Im sorry but i bought the game and i just wasnt happy with the song choices.Dont get me wrong i love the concept of the game i do like some songs that are on there. Most of those songs just dont belong.Between Guitar hero and this game im getting sick of the songs because its the same bands over and over and the same type of rock music. This game needs more diversity or else its going to fail because it will not satisfy most off its customers. Its 2007 not everyone wants to play black sabbath and mettallica a million times.I think its time for some new music up and coming and songs over the recent years. As well as more music types such as more metal, death metal, harcore, grindcore, scream, even emo punk and when i say i all this i mean up to date songs of the type...Not songs made in the 1980's.Ever since i bought the game my friends have been coming over and playing and we all agree that the songs are outdated and most even boring. If this game dosent improve its just going to be another trade in at gamestop and not just for me but for alot of young kids and young adults like myself that are into different music.Hope to see improvements soon GL with the game all my friend will be playing assassins creed till then. =)

Well, while some may agree with you, there are so many that disagree. I for one think they got a good setlist started, and while you may not like the 60/70/80's rock, they will eventually put in some more contemporary music. Death metal, or many of the genres you listed may not work in Rock Band, as there really is no singing, and the drums would be impossible, seeing as there is no second kick pedal. They are also trying to go for music that is more well known than the obscure punk/metal music. I have nothing against that music, as In Flames and Opeth are two of my favorite bands. I'm just saying that it makes the game more fun if most players have a basic idea of how the song goes.

There is actually a good variety of songs in the game split over a fairly wide range of genres. If you think it's all "the same", well, that'd be like me saying that all metal was the same because it generally has a singer that screams or growls, there's shredding at silly speeds, and fast drums.

Needs more metal. It cant be a true rockband without MORE METAL!!!!!! I mean I dont want to play bands that I HATE. I want bands I WANT TO PLAY for fun NOT HAVE TO PLAY to finally reach songs I want to play. Its like in the gh series. I hated playing Avenged Sevenfold and AFI. *Shudders* Emo metal is just as bad I want MANLY METAL!!!!!!

But there IS a lot of new stuff...Fall Out Boy, Flyleaf, OK GO, Jet, Coheed & Cambria, Red Hot Chili Peppers....I do think they are releasing exclusively old stuff via DLC so far, but the game comes with some good newer music. Almost all of the songs on the game are very good with the exception of a few (out of all the possible fall out boy songs....jesus). Sorry, but the game is about rock, not progressive hardcore stuff. I don't want to be doing a bunch of screaming/demon-talking (unless the screaming is in THURSDAY's "War All the Time")

And I am quite pleased with the games lack of metal. Metal is for GH; I don't want to sing Lamb of God and the like. I already have to suffer through the rapping in Sabotage by the Beastie Boys. *shudder*
