i've been seeing these posts about broken instruments. i'm sure some might come broken....but-
i've noticed that the drum controller seems to be designed to sustain pressure directly on the head. incidentally this is also a good drum technique, as per my observations of the drummer clan. i noticed i was dinging the plastic at the edges of the drum head pretty good, and i've been adjusting my technique to play directly on the head of the drum. it also feels and sounds better.
the game suggests in one of its loading tips to let the foot keep the pedal down between hits in order to rest. this helps, also, to keep your strokes controlled and consistent.
i'm sure similar things can be said about the guitar controller - picking in a controlled manner, not yanking too much.
normally, i imagine, this wouldn't be much of a problem..
but...
...the introduction of improvisation might have been an unforseen risk - a tendency of my own, before i started laying out more controlled phrases was to hit as many things as i could very hard. i haven't played much drumset or guitar, but i've learned a couple of of other instruments pretty well, and i can say that playing in a controlled intended manner is rewarding musically, for technique, and for the instrument itself.
sorry if any of this is a repost.
