My star power automatically activates on guitar. Is there a way to fix this or maybe just have it activate only by pressing 'select'?

I have the game problem here myself. But it only happens when I play laying down on my bed. Im pretty much flat with my head raised with some pillows. And everytime I get star power it automatically activates.

really sucks, since I take a break from the drums to play guitar.

1.9.4 I’m having trouble trigging overdrive.
You may be holding the guitar too vertically. Try holding the guitar more horizontal.
You may be holding the guitar with the face a bit upwards. The tilt sensor won’t work if the guitar is too flat.
You may need to contact EA’s customer support. In the meantime, the Back / Select buttons also trigger Overdrive.

well theres my answer right there. Its a design trait :-( Guess I'll have to sit instead of lay down.

that suck becuase I play real guitar and hold it the same angle. It feels goofy if I change it at all.

I don't think this is a problem with him holding the guitar incorrectly. I hold mine the exact same way on the guitar hero 2 or 3 guitars, and it does NOT activate starpower. I'm pretty sure it has to do with a broken guitar- if you shake it you can hear something inside move, i think thats your motion activator broken which is why star power doesn't work (same thing happens to me). In order for me to get star power to work i have to shake it vigorously and look like an idiot.

no its because you are accidently hitting select. same thing happened to me. also that shaking is part of the strummer.

If I play normally like I always have the guitar actually has a harder time trying to activate than the previous installment of guitar games. But if I lean back against a wall chair it will automatically activate.

I also have the rattling noise and everything works properly. So I don't think that rattle means that anything is necessarily broken.

I also have a guitar that auto-fires overdrive, even when held dead-vertical.

Yeah this is crap. Mine doesn't work properly either. I have done everything and it doesn't activate on command. I had to resort to using the select button, although easier on certain songs , you can't be guaranteed to continue your streak due to your timing being broken from the mashing of the button. I think this is bogus and takes a little fun out of the game
