I understand that in a perfect world, it would be nice to buy something, take it home and it works right off the bat with no issues until years of use. I think everyone can agree that having something break so soon is not what they expected. However, people need to sit back a little and relax.

I too have had an issue with an instrument, the infamous downstrum syndrome on the strat controller. It happened after about 4 hours of play. I was bummed out but I never thought or said "OMG, I HATE YOU EA/HARMONIX". I simply went to the site on the pink slip, answered like 5 questions and they took my information to ship a new one to me in 2-3 days! That is great in my opinion. If that one has problems, i will do it again and again until I get what I need. No need for theatrics, no need to take it back to gamestop/bestbuy, etc.. Chances are they have defective models anyway.

This is new territory people, not the same old shlock produced in the old days. It still may be a guitar but there is so much new to it that it cannot even be in the same category as the older models. Added to this are a drum set and microphone; uncharted waters. No matter how hard you plan, there are bound to be issues, especially when it comes to controllers that get beat on.

So, by all means, feel bummed out, wish it didn't happen to you, but keep your head and just use the warranty. Remember, this is a game. I understand the price tag is a little high (not even close as high as it could be comparatively) but it is still only a game.

My biggest issue...is the lack of flippin RESPONSE about it!

Give them a break. The game has effectively been out for 2 non-holiday days. They may be waiting until they can actually offer a good explanation for what is happening rather than just giving a knee-jerk response that turns out to be inaccurate. It's not like Harmonix is assembling these things in their basement- this is a global operation that takes time to sort out.

You have launch day, which was tuesday, I'm sure they were busy all day there, and then Wednesday, well they can have a break, hangovers from the day before or whatnot and Thursday was Thanksgiving and they probably had Friday off and well now it's the weekend and a lot of people don't work on the weekends, Monday will probably be their first "real" day to do anything.
