Will you be buying Lips?

I enjoy the vocal section of Rock Band, and I've been thinking about Lips for awhile. I checked out the soundtrack, and I am very... mixed.

One thing that is holding be back is the quantity of artists that I, well, despise. Avril Lavinge, Aly & AJ, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Maroon 5, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and more. Uh.

At the same time, there are some good selections. Ignoring the fact that The Cure will not be on the US version (odd choice), the game features some choices that have never been in a rhythm game, such as The Jackson Five and John Denver. The game will also feature Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash, Every Little Thing She Does is Magic by the Police, I wanna be Sedated by the Ramones, Another One Bites the Dust, and...

...Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead. Seriously, this is probably the biggest selling point. The song has little chance of being in Rock Band, due to the other instruments... but the vocals of this song are just great.

I might consider buying it, if the Rock Band mic works with it, and I'm not forced to complete every song. I won't be caught dead singing "Complicated", even if it means I'll be able to sing "Ring of Fire" or "Fake Plastic Trees".

Fake Plastic Trees is awesome, but the abundance of bad pop means I probably won't buy it.

Edit: I just checked HMV.com and I may buy it from there. Shipping will cost extra, of course, but it'll be worth it for the Cure. It's not a bad deal for a game and 2 mics, just £39.99 or about $70 for some nice hardware and what looks like a good game.

If you can, do what I'm doing and order it from HMV.com. It costs the same as buying it from Best Buy (minus shipping, of course), plus you get the Cure. I'd say the Cure are worth whatever the international shipping charge is.

Also, I just now started looking into these karaoke games... Singstar is supposed to have over 200 songs downloadable, but they are nowhere to be found on the PS3 store. Odd...

Would buy it at a reduced price later, but couldn't even consider it atm with all the good games out. Bought singstar for my gf couple of years ago, love shack was my fav song on the game, and duets and stuff were fun, and I liked having the actual music videos on the game. But I didn't like alot of songs on the game, so I traded it on RB, great decision hehe. Haven't really checked out lips yet but fake plastic trees is a great song.

The bundle came out here today at something like $69.99, which is more than I wanted to pay for it.

The mics look nice, but if they won't work on other games (RB2, GHWT), then I can't justify the price.

I love the game's eclectic sountrack (The Raveonettes + John Denver + Depeche Mode = win), so I'll probably end up getting the game when the price drops or if HMX decides to release a mic compatibility patch.

Kinda dissapointed that the US version doesn't have Just Like Heaven and Virtual Insanity, though.

I would buy if it did not have so much bulls**t pop. Then again, when I have rockband parties, there are only like a few songs that everyone knows, which I despise. Most people REALLY need to expand when it comes to music.

You can only access the SingStore through the game (like the Rock Band music store). Not everything available in Europe is available in the US. I've gone with the European versions of all three discs so far.
