I've tried 3 candidates I had lying around the house, and none of them are recognized by Rock Band. I thought it was supposed to be compatible with standard USB mikes. Whasupwitdat?

Ideally I want to use a HEADSET mike, so I can vocal while playing guitar. Beats buying some boom mike stand.

I know it sounds like an obvious question, but you do have a regular X360 controller powered on when you have a mic plugged in right? I have used both of my USB mics with the game no problem, you just have to have that controller plugged in so you can navigate while using the mic.

Also, you can use the regular headset mic that you would use for XBL. Plug it into the controller and then sing through that.

I know HMX tried with as many USB mics as they could think of, and they all worked. Have you tried unplugging and plugging them back in? If that doesn't work, send them an e-mail, since they wanted to know of any mics that don't work.

Something's gotta be wrong, then, because the standard Karaoke Revolution headset mike doesn't work. Of all the mikes HMX had to have tested that one's on top of the list, I'd think.

I've tried it in the USB hub, I've tried it directly, I've tried unplugging and replugging, I know about the whole "gotta use a controller" thing, etc. My normal rock band mike works fine. I'd prefer not to use the XBL headset because it's got horrible quality and makes me score worse than I'm singing.

My logitech headset, did not work either, I just switched it with my still working RB mic, and no dice.....

Send them an e-mail, I'm sure they'll fix it as soon as they have the chance.

Well, HMX definitely wants as much compatibility with USB mics as possible, so the more info they get, the sooner they can get a fix.

Do all of your mics register as a 'USB audio device' or 'USB microphone' under your OS? Find that out, and pass that on to HMX.

The microphone in the bundle looks like the same one as the logitech vantage.

I saw the exact same microphone with slightly different paint on it in the PS3 section at the store yesterday...

here are photos to compare:
