i've only listened to a few of the new GNR tunes so far, but "artsy" certainly didn't pop into my mind... "not very good" popped up a lot, but not "artsy".

then again, i suppose any album with even an ounce of style and/or substance will look like a frickin' 10 movement avant-garde composition of the highest order in comparison to hinder.

Funny part is... Hinder isn't that sweet either. Chinese Democracy was huge letdown I agree but I don't think Hinder has the right to comment on the matter since their band sucks even more than the album itself.

I've heard a lot of the new album (I won't say how so Axl Rose won't send his secret police after me), and some of it isn't bad. It's certainly jarring because it's so different than the "real" GNR. If you can get past that, though, there is some decent stuff. 14 years worth of work good? Probably not. But not terrible.

Oklahoma hard rockers HINDER recently spoke to MTV News about GUNS N' ROSES' long-awaited new album, "Chinese Democracy", which is due for release on November 23.

"We've heard some of the earlier stuff that's leaked, and the single, and I was just kind of like, 'Eh,' " frontman Austin Winkler said. "Axl's voice sounds great, but that was never a problem. It was him going onstage and working with those other guys that was the problem. I think somewhere Axl's got all these other different guitar players he's tried to work with and he was just whipping them, going, 'More like Slash! More like Slash!' That's what I'm picturing in my mind."

"I heard the stuff that was leaked, and I know the mixes weren't there, but, being musicians, you can hear through that stuff — you still hear the songs, and to be honest, the songs just aren't there," drummer Cody Hanson added. "It almost sounds too artsy; there's something about it. It's not what it was. It's just missing something, and it sounds overproduced. ... I guess that's what happens whenever you've got 20 years to sit in the studio."

Turn on any rock or popular music radio station for more than 10 minutes last year and you would have heard "Lips of An Angel". I don't even listen to the radio and managed to hear it about 1,000 times.
