Help inviting friends to play online

I can't invite and play with friends online for RB2 on PS3? I went into "Online Band Quickplay" and sent an invitation to a friend. He then received it and accepted and it and it says "joining' but then always says "unable to join Session". The same happens when he sends in invitation to me. Are we doing something wrong or is it just a problem with the online function? Please help?

I'm guessing that we are doing everything correctly and its just the actual server that has issues. Anybody else try to play online with friends?

I have the same problem on wii. We just cant seem to get it together. Do you have to be in an online session already, or at the mail menu? I cant figure it out for the life of me.

if the other user replaced you with some other user, this will happen.

other times it happens randomly
