Does anyone over 6 feet tall have the same issue - it seems the drums are too short for me and the if I put the pedal on the medal rods (to prevent them from slipping around), my knee is almost as high as the control pad
Anyone else have this issue - also is there "leg extenders" that one can purchase? PVC pipes are just to made in the correct dimensions
thanks

You can adjust the height of the pads. Or get a shorter chair.

Tis what i had to do, get a shorter chair. I am 6'4" and the orig hight of the drums hurt my back trying to play until i got an adjustable drum throne that really cut down on the pain.

I have the drums on the highest setting and I have my drums stool as low as it can go

you guys shouldn't be tucking your playing knee under the drums, that just doesn't make sense

Try a hardware store, look for electrical conduit, 3/4 inch and 1 inch respectively might work, measure the current legs you have, Outside diameter, and try to match that up.
The two conduits come in EMT, and Ridged, and have different O.D.'s. Might be worth a try.

I'm 6'1" tall and don't have any problems. I don't even have the drums as high as they go. *shrug*

A friend of mine brought his kit over the other day, and when I went to adjust it I accidentally pulled the leg completely out and the whole kit fell over on top of me. 'Twas quite humorous, but once I got them at about the tallest setting, I was fine, and I'm 6'3".

Where are the drums in relation to your hips?
I've read on these forums from guys that play drums in real life and they've mentioned that the bottom of the red and green pads should be lined up with your hips.

I'm nearly 6 foot and didn't have the problem until recently when i got really annoyed whilst drumming and smash down the sticks on red and green and now my kit refuses to stay up and is always on the smallest possible setting. It's like drumming on a mini kit.

I'm 6'1" and don't have the drums all the way up. What I did need to do is take out the two bars on the bottom so the pedal could farther away.

6'5" here. I too found the stock stand way uncomfortable, so I got a 5 foot long folding table, and started using the "Table-Top" configuration. I use a modified real bass pedal, so I didn't need the bars to hold the pedal.

I'm 5'10" and the pedal is ALWAYS too close when it's on the metal rods. It's quite frustrating.

I'm 6'1" and I have little trouble with drum height. I use my desk chair and have it at max height and my drums aren't even at max height. You people are simply crazy.
