Well, I live in an apartment building, and I live in the upstairs part. I just found out my drums were too loud when I hit them, because my downstairs neighbor asked me to stop pounding. Is there anyway to make them... Quiet? I really want to get back to my hard career, but I can't because of the nise factor. Any tips or anything anyone else has done to make the drums quieter?
Please Help.

You could try folding up a blanket and placing the drums on that. That should help dampen the sound a bit.

that could work, I heard something about putting like, rubber or something on the drum sticks? Would that work?

I would sugeest the blanket. or even better, dish towel over the drum head idea. If you are using the stand you might want to put some blankets/towels or packing foam on the floor under your kit legs to dampen the vibrations going down through the stand to the floor.
Hope that helps.

thanks for all the suggestions so far.
I'm just really trying to get a bunch of ideas and string them together so that I know my neighbor won't come-a-knocking on my door.

Ok, I bought this game on Tuesday, like everyone else :-). That night I heard my downstairs neighbor complaining so i started looking for a solution. Mind you I already have carpet and padding to start with. And the lady has been complaining for years, just from my walking. So I started with two more extra layers of carpet

Then I added some wood I had from an ikea bed that i no longer use.

Lastly, here's the final picture.

I hope this dampened the noise for her. I am not going to stop and I tried my best to reduce the noise.

what i did was take 2 erasers
lik the ones that go on the back of pencils and i put them on my sticks.
i then rounded the top off a little and taped them to the sticks with electrical tape..
worked perfectly for me. try it :)
