View Full Version : How do I get rid of the ridiculous guitar sound effects???

I hate the sound effects for guitar. They sound so horrible. It is almost as bad as the drum fills that sound nothing like the drums in the song. But I can't get the effect to stop.
Whenever I am in a solo or overdrive I can hear crappy, cheep, cheesy effects. If I move the switch around and put it back to "none" the guitar will sound normal again, but only until the next solo or overdrive. Then it is back again. Is this a known issue? Man I hate these sound effects.

That is the multi-position switch near your Start and Back buttons that sets it in flanger/reverb etc... mode. All the way down or all the way up (down I think) is off.

I don't think you read my post. I know about the switch. My switch is always on "none". When overdrive or a solo starts it has effects. Then if I move the switch and put it back to none, the effect goes away. Until the net overdrive then it comes back.
Again, I always have it set to "none" but I get effects anyway. It is such a stupid gimicky thing anyway I was hoping they would leave it out of rb2.

You are right. I didn't read the post through. Sorry.

Sounds like a hardware defect. I have a strange defect in one of my guitars, where when I whammy, it sometimes changes the effect. Try playing with a different guitar to see if that's the problem, if not, then *shrug*.

I have played on 3 ps3's, 2 different copies of game and tried 4 different guitars.

anyone ever come up with a solution for this?
I, too, hate the overdrive "flanger-ish" sound effects. (again ... not talking about whammy bar effects ... i'm talking about the change in the guitar/bass sound when you go into overdrive.)
does anyone know of a way to disable this ??
thanks....

Cannot be disabled. This is not something with the controller - It's in-game. When you activate Overdrive, it happens. So you can either learn to accept it and have fun, or just not activate Overdrive.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

aremis ... yeah, that's kinda what i thought.
would be nice to have it as an audio option. i don't mind it much when not playing loud ... but when having a party and it's blaring, it just adds a little "muddiness" to the overall mix.
thanks . ..

I have this problem across multiple guitars, so I too know it isn't hardware related. I do have a theory though.
Are any of you playing on lefty flip? I am, and I wonder if the software looks for a certain state (all the way up?) for "none", but that the states flip for lefties. If they don't have a check beforehand as to which mode you are in, but do later in the routine, it may be what causes it to always start the stupid effects.
And they are horribly stupid effects. But if you guys experience it in normal right-handed mode, then never mind. Either way, it is annoying.

Am I the only one here who actually likes the effects?

Try it on regular and see if it is fixed like that
