Rock Band USB Hub

Everything seems to work fine with my set except the USB hub. I hooked everything in properly. The green light on my hub does not light up. All my instruments work fine when plugged directly into the xbox. When using the hub, nothing works. This leads me to believe my hub is faulty. Is there anything I can do to test this, or maybe some troubleshooting advice? Any help would be appreciated.

is the hub plugged into the wall? other than that, there's nothing you can do. call ea.

make sure its plugged into a power outlet.

Yeah, it is plugged in. I was hoping I was missing something simple. Guess I have to go through the trouble of dealing with them :(

You can also use any generic USB hub. If you don't want to wait for them to send a new one you can go to any electronics store and pick one up.

Just make sure it's a powered usb hub and not a passive one (if buying a replacment yourself)

my USB hub was also defective. the 2 left ports did not work. 2 right ones did.
Call to replace the defective part. Didnt want to wait till it came in, so I bought a much better 4way USB (powered). The RockBand USB hub is a piece of crap.

MAke sure you buy the powered one as Mournblade77 first said

I just use a cheapy usb hub I have had forever. I think I got it at Wal-Mart like 5 years ago..... I like it better because instead of 4 ports in a line it is a big square with 2 ports on each side. Keeps the cords from getting tangled.

ya know. i have to agree. I love rock band but this hub is just insanely ridiculous. Its the only thing thats been giving me headaches. I alwasy have to unplug and plug back in the power. Instruments dont register into their perspective positions /slots when signing in. player 4 somehow manages to get signed in as player 1.

Perhaps i'll just switch the ****ty hub with my good one for now... argh.

the only thing I have plugged into the hubs are the guitars. The mic is on the back usb w wireless controller, the brums is the other front usb.

the power issue is lame, and mu usb doesnt work at all. I had to borrow one from work over the weekend...hope I get it soon.
