Hey i was wondering if anyone would be able to assist in pointing out any guides out there or giving any basic instructions on how i can make videos where i show myself playing drums with the chart also being played like most drummers on youtube do. most of you that have ever watched skitzzo's videos would know what i mean. i can easily record myself with a camera and record gameplay with a capture card. I have sony vegas pro 8.0 . i just need to know how to use it. or any other video editing software that would be necessary. i dont really need too much detail just the basics on how to get the chart running on the corner.

The guy whose video you linked to uses Adobe After Effects to combine his videos.
http://www.videocopilot.net/basic/ has some great tutorials on how to use AE.

The guy in that video is awesome..
I'm sorry I know this is completly off topic but my computer just did something I thought was awesome, when I watch the video the sound is pretty loud. When I scrolled down a bit to see comments the video's sound dimmed and when it was off screen pretty much cut off, but when I scrolled back up it raised again like a self volume control! I thought it was awesome..

AE is an incredibly complicated program. I have a degree in television, took AE classes for my last two years of studies, and STILL don't understand most of what it can do. I've used Vegas, and I know you can get that effect in it. Problem is, I completely forget how.
I don't have Vegas on my PC anymore (i've switched to Final Cut/AE for all my work) so I can't look up how to do it for you. Sorry! I'd recommend trying to figure it out in (or find a tutorial for) Vegas, instead of trying to learn a whole new program just for that one effect. It should be fairly simple, using masking and moving clips around a little.

You can do it with Sony Vegas. I can't give you a step-by-step instruction on how to do it because of PC related problems at the moment.
All I remember off the top of my head is you use the pan/crop tool, like how you do greenscreen. Type in something like 'pan crop sony vegas tutorial' in to youtube. There's plenty of tutorials there that'll help you.

Yes, I just gave you a link to a tutorial. Watch the first few tutorials on videocopilot, until you get to the one about Masking. That's the effect you use to combine videos like that. I was able to start using that effect as soon as I finished watching that tutorial, it's pretty easy.
