View Full Version : Drums and Guitar model #s

Ok, apparently there are different models of guitars and drums. I've heard there are 3 different models for the drums. I'm pretty sure there are at least 2 for the guitars. I just wanted to make a post where people can post the model # of each instrument and how that instrument is performing.
On the Fender the model # is located on the sticker on the back of it. On the drums the sticker is located under the red drum.
Date on sticker on bottom of the box: 13-Oct-07
Platform: XBOX 360
Fender model #: 822152
My Fender is great. No issues at all. I can play on expert and the only notes I miss are clearly my fault. It feels right and the strumbar is very responsive.
Drums model #: 822149
They seem to be fine for the most part. I test them by choosing Practice mode, then And Justice For All (I know that is DLC and not everyone has it, but any song with a long intro will work), then I choose to only practice the intro. You then have all the time you need to test them out. My drums seem fine in practice mode. They register fast hits just fine. I have noticed that every now and then a hit won't pick up but it's not constant. This kind of sucks though. The drums really do need to work 100%. I've been playing drums for 8 years and can definately keep a basic beat. My screen has absolutely zero lag. Anyway, during simple bass, snare, hi-hats sections, I'll be playing the basic beat and out of nowhere I will lose my multiplier. I haven't figured out why. I don't know if it is not picking up a hit or if it is picking up a double hit. Either way I lose my multiplier and I can't keep one going for very long at all for this reason. This is keeping me from being able to 5 star any songs past medium.
At first I thought it could be me. After more playing I know it's not me. At least not during the easy sections where this is happening. I can hear that the sticks are hitting the pads on beat. I hear no change in my attacks, yet I can't keep a multiplier. I'm going to wait a week or two to see what other people are saying. Then if I feel like a replacement set will be better I guess I'll send off for one.
Please post your model #s and reviews below.

The date on my package is 9/28/07 and my model number is 822149 for the drums. So far the drums have seemed to be working fine, except to things like fast snare rolls, in which case it doesn't completely register them at all. At first I thought it was just that I was missing them, but it seems like it may be a bad red drum. When playing rolls on other drums in fill sections, it seems as if the game does not pick up each of the hits all of the time, though that could just be me being picky. As for my guitar, the model number is 822152 and I haven't personally experienced too many problems, as my strum bar does work up and down, however my brother and I have noticed a significant difference in the accuracy of the strumming, though we're not entirely sure if that's due to the guitar or the increased difficulty in the timing within the game. As we could both play through expert pretty well in GH 1, 2, 3, and Encore, we think it may be strum bar issues, but once again, we're not entirely sure.

If you're having issues with rapid notes on the drums, check your calibration. I was having a bear of a time with the sixteenths on Ballroom Blitz on hard, even after I 4 and 5-starred the previous tracks, until I manually calibrated. It made all the difference.

I just thought of something. Are the model numbers different on the PS3 and Xbox360 or do they share the same numbers? I know that drums model 822148 and 822149 are both Xbox360. I see someone with a PS3 posted they have 822148. I guess the drums share the same numbers. So far the only person I have seen who posted guitar model 822151 has the PS3 version. I'm assuming they share the same numbers but I didn't think to mention I have the 360 version. I'm going to edit my first post to add that.

Guitar: 822152
No problems, thought the strum bar was messed up, but it turns out that turning on the "Bass Boost" messed with my lag, calibrated and now it's fine again.
Drums: 822149
No problems... Well except for that dang noise they make when you hit them lol :P

After about 8-10 hours of playing, the down-strum misses randomly or registers a double-strum. Up-strum registers fine so far. Strumbar I swear feels "looser" than when I first started playing. It has some "jiggle" to it. Also, my overdrive activates randomly once the energy gauge is powered up, yet when I tilt the guitar up it doesn't activate. I jiggle it around a bit when it's vertical and it activates about a second or two afterwards (usually when I've given up and am lowering the guitar). I've tested out the game with my Les Paul and I play wonderfully (5 star-ing medium and hard). Oh, and when I'm playing the solos using only the high frets (no strum), I don't miss a note. It's the strumbar.
Drum Model: 822149
Drums are working fine for me. I'm only able to play on medium, and I've been careful to not wail on the drumpads (for fear of breaking them), but my cousin played them and she was a bit more rough than me. Everything is still working perfectly.
Mic: A-0234A
No problems.

Drum Model #: 822149 Pedal broke in the first two days. Like the author of this thread my drums also either seems to be regestering double hits or no hits. Went into practice and notice the same thing. I have been playing drums for over 30 years. I also cannot keep a multiplier due to this so I will be sending the set in for a replacement. The new pedal is on the way.
Fender Model #: 822152 Fender is working great. No strum bar problems and have been playing on hard since day one. My son and I log atleast 5 plus hours a night since it came out.

That sounds reasonable, but I read that someone had model 148 for the XBOX360, took it back and exchanged it, then got model 149. So I don't know...
