Did anyone bother to try and actually play the triplet notes on the Stratocaster in QA/testing? They're impossible.... :(

I have no problem playing them, the only part that messes me up is the descending and ascending ones.

Yep no problem for me either other than the one named above.

I think developing any kind of consistent response from this guitar is next to impossible. The strum bar simply will not allow for it.

yeah.. same problem i'm having. anyone else not like the way the neck of the guitar is shaped? it's kinda boxy and hurts my hands after playing for a while. i had never really thought about it before so i looked at my gh controllers and they're all rounded. even my real guitar is rounded (it's not a fender though). just another thing that kinda bugs me about the guitar.

I guess it's time I jumped in on this discussion too. I don't really have anything to add that hasn't already been said, only the fact that at least this is confirmation that it's not something I'm doing wrong ... AND I got my ass handed to me FIVE times in a row during online play with my brother - with him using the X-Plorer -

My Strat was dropping notes all over the damn place. And we were only playing on medium

Really? The only time I've ever had a problem with that, or any other fast sections, were when I had the broken strum bar that the Strat that came with my bundle had. Since getting a new one with an actual, working strum bar, I can do those parts just fine. :/

The thing is, I can't tell if it's actually a faulty controller or if it just flat out sucks. Also during long note streaks *Particularly Highway Star or Metallica* I've tried strumming up and I get no response at all. ... Just...missed note clanks.

Funny...I can't play for more than a half hour on the PS2 Gibson without my right wrist killing me but can play for hours on the thinner necked Strat...

Try playing a slower-paced song, and make sure both strum directions work properly (and that your timing isn't off). If either way is broken, well... You should get a new guitar. I don't know how prompt EA is with replacing the things, but Best Buy is willing to tear open another bundle, and give me that guitar in exchange for a faulty one (and for once, I'm glad I got that warranty - had to exchange two guitars in two days).

After finally getting a perfectly-functioning controller, I've verily deemed that it's better than anything I've gotten from the Guitar Hero games, for sure. I'm not having any trouble with this one, at all.

So, I'm stuck on Green Grass and High Tides on drums on medium, where does Run to the Hills come from, is it DLC or is it somewhere in the game?

That's the thing, the Strat works fine on slower sections/songs. Such as in practice mode with the pace slowed. Other than that, during gameplay I'm pretty sure it's not my timing, because it's happening waaaaaaaaaaay too consistently.

Luckily I have 2 friends who work at EA here in the Bay Area. Maybe one of them can just bring the controller in for me. :D

It's much more like a real guitar neck now. I think the actual guitarists here love everything about the strat except the strum bar, and I'm sure there are some that love that too.

It's in the final tier after Green Grass....which is funny because I found all the songs in the final tier on hard to be easier than Green Grass. So much for gradual difficulty.

This guitar needs a patch and it's called a new strum bar.

I have no problems with the guitar other then my own lack of skill.

My strat is still working great after much abuse over the weekend, but I've been alternately loving and hating it as I switch between it and the explorer. The mushy strum bar was giving me tons of grief on sections with a bunch of notes in quick succession as well, but last night I found something that works great:

My normal style on the explorer was to position my hand like I was holding a pick and scrape the nail of my forefinger l across the strumbar; for rapid notes I'd grab the strum and yank it back and forth. The "imaginary pick" method still works great on the strat for individual notes, but the strum is way too mushy for my method on quick passages.

Now when I hit the quick passages, I keep my thumb and forefinger in a loose "C" shape with about an inch of space between them, then tap up with my finger and down with my thumb alternately, kind of like I'm finger-picking country style. It works great... very easy, and extremely accurate. Combined with finally getting used to feel out my position on the fret buttons, I think the strat's a definite keeper.

BTW, after lurking the forums for 5-6 months, I finally decided to register! :D
