Ok, just did a search for this, couldn't find an answer... Does a bluetooth headset work with voice chat on PSN online? And if so, how? Has anyone tried this yet? Thanks in advance!

I have use a bluetooth before and it has worked. BUt then I lost it. Then I found warhawk with the bluetooth headset and it doesnt seem to work all that well with the PS3 system, but yea a bluetooth headset does work with the ps3 and psn. Just find one that doesnt turn off when there is no signal comming thru. find one that is constantly on unless you turn it off.
Hope that helps..... Cory

Man i've searched ALL OVER the net for this... I just bought a bluetooth headset and was wondering if it works with Rock Band AT ALL! Like, just for voice chat.... And if so, how? Thanks

I assume it would work for voice chat if you use it to talk to band mates to pick a song. But as far as a microphone goes, I have no idea.

i don't care about the mic, i'm pretty sure it was never an option to talk to bandmates with the mic... I'm just talking about a bluetooth headset used specifically for voice chatting... I know the 360 version has it, but for the ps3 version not to have it is just ridiculous..

Well it works online for all other games so I don't see why Rock Band would be any different.

Hmm... The thing is, I don't know how to test it out either... I got it to register my talking on the PS3 XMB, but as far as the game is concerned how would I know if it worked anyway?

The same way I tested mine for Warhawk. Sign up for a multiplayer game and see if you can hear/talk to other people.

if the person can hear you and you can hear them... i'd say thats a good indicator as to it working or not....

Well I tried that, I joined 3 different' bands and started talking my ass off... No responses... does that mean they don't have headsets or does it mean they just can't hear me?

Well duh! But I can't seem to get that working... Does anyone here want to coordinate a test? If you have a headset of course...

I don't think any voice chat on any games except once that support it will work until Home comes out. It's basicly what's gonna fund a server like that, wouldn't it?

Doesn't work, I'm afraid. I asked the same question a couple days ago.

Lots of truth in this thread.
Also, there's no support for a Bluetooth headset as a Rock Band mic.
And, of course, even with PSN voice chat working, the game doesn't support it internally.

Nope rock band doesn't support voice chat with PS3. Forgot where i saw it but this topic was widely discussed about a week ago and people stopped talking about it. Can't blame you for not finding the topic.
Before I found out RB doesn't support PS3, I tried using the Jabra (the one that came with Warhawk) and didn't work at all. Not only did it not work, RB doesn't even recognize it as a microphone.

What a letdown... To me, this is more upsetting than the current lack of PS3 support for other game's guitars; at least that's scheduled to be SOLVED. The seperate guitars have an in-store date at least, even though it's over a month away at this point...
But not having PS3 in-game chat is a heartbreak. PLEASE patch this, HMX
I sense this being a game that gets played a lot over the next year or two, and I'd hate to have this limit my online experience.

We buy downloads every week please keep us interested in the game.

ya please do add voice chat that would make the game so much better discussing songs to play online and all that crap, it cant be that hard. and whoever said the problem of PS3 guitar hero guitar compatibility is being solved by selling seperate guitars THAT DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I am not spending $60!!! on a guitar when xbox 360 players get to use the GH guitar for free, PoS activision, get working on this problem now harmonix.

just to let you all know RB does recognize the playstation eye as a mic and since the mic on the eye is built so you can talk anywhere in the room so u can sing without holding anything in your hand.
ps i really wish we had voice chat (idea for a patch)

@ koston, have you actually used the PSEye as a mic? I'm just wondering how well it works...
