Currently, I've broken out my Pikmin 2 game because I never actually finished so I'm starting over.

Also, the original Animal Crossing.

playing need for speed: most wanted on the 360. loved it on the ps2 and got it on the cheap for $20. The easy 1000 gamerscore is nice too.

Yeah, it came out on Tuesday. Quite playable with a PS3 controller, fortunately.

The AI is a lot smarter now, though. No longer anything near the pushover the arcade version was.

It's great but the 360 controller is an absolute dog to play with. The amount of times I've gone for a special move for it to do a kick or punch instead is beyond a joke.
I really have to invest in one of those arcade stick things.

Shame I can't use my SNES pad with my 360. The SNES pad is the greatest pad in the world, ever.

Your PS3 users have all the luck when it comes to fighting games. I'm debating whether or not SF4 on the 360 will even be worth it since the controllers are so ****ty.

I've seen some SF-branded 360 pads advertised online that look like old Sega Saturn controllers. I might just bite and go for one of those, if they're not too expensive.

He did say 'fighting' games. As in 'beat'em-ups'. Don't turn it into a console war, it was merely a comment (which is echoed on mots of places on the internet) that the 360 pad isn't very fighting game-friendly.

I have no idea whether I prefer the SNES pad (or the Wii classic controller pad, which is more or less a copy) or the PS-type pads. Both are really good.

That's okay. I guess I might be showing my age in still knowing 'fighting games' as a genre unto itself, meaning games like SF/MK/GG and 3D fighters like Virtua Fighter and Tekken. :D

I do have MK2, but on my SNES... since it's a straight port, I didn't really feel it necessary to pick it up again on the PS3.

Besides, there's only one way to properly play MK2: go to an arcade, pick Shang Tsung and show off with all the morphs and fatalities in the game while never spending more than a single coin (yes, it was one of the few games I was pretty good at). Ah, good old times. :D

Sorry, GG is Guilty Gear (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guilty_gear), another really good 2-D fighter. Not as well known as SF or MK, but still a lot of fun.

MK didn't transition to 3-D very well (MK vs DC looks pretty dull too), I hope SF4 will do better (I've blocked out all memories of the horror of the Street Fighter Ex games).

Killer Instinct was fun, but it started the whole 'dial-a-combo' concept that I'm not fond of at all (and which is what ruined MK, in my opinion). The Street Fighter series has always been my favorite, including the Vs. games. A HD remake of Marvel Vs. Capcom would be absolutely awesome.

Still waiting for the new King of Fighters game to come out (they're going to be using HD sprites as well now!), but am a definite fan of the Guilty Gear games (own XX #Reload and Isuka for PC as well as Judgment for PSP).

Definitely considering buying SF4 on PC, mainly because I'm much better with fighting games using a keyboard than I am with a standard controller (all those years playing One Must Fall: 2097 did that to me!). Maybe I need to get a USB keyboard and start schooling people at SSF2HDR, hehe :)

One Must Fall was amazing!!! One of the best PC Fighting games I ever played.

MK vs. DC is actually pretty fun. I got to play it quite extensively over the Thanksgiving break. I'd probably buy it for $39.99, but not $59.99. I enjoyed it much more than any of the 3D incarnations of MK on PS2. It just sucks it's rated T so some of the Fatalities/Heroic Brutalities are a bit lame. Plus, beating the crap out of Superman is awesome.
