View Full Version : PS3 Controller Connectivity Issues after time-out

Sometimes when the controllers time out and you reconnect them, they do not work - even when connected to the proper player number. Happens about 25-35% of the time that a controller times out. Which gets more an more likely and more and more annoying when playing in a full band - after each break, you are more likely to have to reload the game - the only way to fix it.

This happens when playing with any number of bandmates, with any type of instrument, including on vocals with a regular PS3 controller - which says to me right there that it is a problem with the game code. It is also annoying that when you reconnect the controller, you also must press the button on the dongle to reset and hopefully reconnect to the PS3. This must be done every time, and didn't for RB1. I don't understand the change. It's bad enough that you have to press the button, but then half the time it re-organizes the players position (1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc) so then you get to change the controllers all over again. Very frustrating.

I took the game over to my friends house who has RB1, and we played for several hours. It happens there as well, with another PS3 and with his RB1 guitar and PS3 controller (not the drums though as they don't time out because of hardwire).

I've searched for people posting about this problem, but I can't find anything - which really surprises me as I cannot be the only one experiencing it. Please advise.

Nextivity I think you're having trouble with the Auto-shutdown for controllers. I posted about it in this thread (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92298&page=2). I asked someone to move it and make a sticky out of it here in the support forums.
