RB2 drum kit wont connect!!!

i just bought a rb2 drum kit for my 360 and i can't get the kit and the console to connect! i have fresh batteries, and i've never had a problem with my console finding new controllers in the past. what's the deal?!?:mad::mad::mad:

this is what the instructions say: power on drum kit (and 360), push drum kit sinq button first then consoles sinq button. but nothing happens! do i need the actual rb2 game in to sinq them up?

I bought a rb2 drumset earlier today and it wouldn't connect at first either. Never had a problem syncing controllers, and it randomly connected after I took all the batteries out and put them back in. Before that it would power on but it was if the sync button didn't work. Fixed its self though.
