just some info l learned while playing bwt. i have to sing and play guitar at the same time so some of you may find this interesting.
i don't think the fan cap has anything to do with progression in this mode.
mainly i play and variate the guitar between easy and medium and variate the singing between easy and medium as well. i have still been able to unlock the van, the bus, the jet, roadies, the sound man,etc. As unlocking venues and stuff is based according to "stars" and not fan levels.
to win the jet though, the game did not let me play on the easy level. i was forced to play the medium level as a minimum choice. then it picked songs i never played but i still unlocked the jet. i had a 3 song set and got 3 stars as an average. my singing failed twice on the first song (and was rescued each time by the guitarist.) i wasn't doing it before, but i use overdrive with the singer and guitarist at the same time. as i think this builds up your overall stars.
the manager said i needed more stars in berlin to go on a world tour. I had already played the "make a setlist" and the other songs I wasn't familiar with. I played them on easy (this is after the game forced me to play on medium to unlock the jet--- so the game does let you go back down to easy afterwards).
Anyways, i played the new songs on easy to try and unlock the world tour but it still said i needed more stars. I always thought you had to play new songs to unlock more stuff but i found out you don't.
So what I did was pick "make a setlist" again. choose my easy songs "say it aint so" "creep" and "should i stay or should i go". Except I put the guitar on hard and left the singing on easy. This got me alot of stars and it unlocked everything.
so, overall what i'm saying , is you can do repeats of a venue, just at a higher level. you don't have to play the new songs or gigs if all you need are "more stars" to unlock something.
