Just have to say that Rock Band is really quite amazing. I bought my set last Wednesday. Brought it home and me and my 12 year old son started jamming. He took to the drums and I started on guitar. (360 version)
I have never played any of the GH games but this just seemed like such a cool conscept playing together with other people.
Anyway... then my wife got home. She has always talked about wanting to do Karoke and all that but usually is to embarassed to do it out somewhere etc. So....
We showed her us playing a song...the Garbage song..."I Think Im Paranoid". We played it once for her and then handed her a mic and said "Let's Rock", lol.
3 hours later we were into world tour mode playing and having a ball. My wife plays no games at all and she was hooked playing this. Really a great game to get anyone into it. I took it over to the Mothers house on Turkey day and got the whole family playing. Same thing happen. Most of my family didnt want to play and embarass themselves.
But on almost everyone....once they tried it once...they wanted to do "Just one more song...". My uncle and aunt played about 4 songs in a row on guitar and vocals. Totally amazed me. This game truly is amazing in its ability to get family members together to have a good time.
So far I havent had any of the problems with any equipment that anyone else has reported. Guitar has been fine and drums are taking a beating from a 12 year old and have been fine so far. We are only on medium difficulty so far trying to get better (I think hard and above is a ways off for both of us except on Bass as we have even played some songs on expert with bass and passed fine).
Anyway...I just felt obligated to post at least once letting the devs know how great a experience they have created. Best money I have spent on a video game related item in years. Now ifyou guys will just release a few more easy songs for us newbs things would be great, hehe.
