View Full Version : The biggest problem with Rock Band imo

I love this game and I can somewhat deal with the drum and mic lag and the possibility of broken controllers and no online bwt but the metronome cymbal (sound that keeps the beat) in the practice modes is at times incredibly counterproductive. It doesn't always match the tempo of the song so I am stuck trying to practice with this nonsensical banging in the background.

Some songs are worse than others. I can't believe with all the technical wizardry of this game that this is even an issue. Trust me, it's off, doesn't have anything to do with calibration or receiver lag...

Yes I need lots of practice, I'm trying to get thru solo tour on hard guitar and don't have any guitar hero experience. I'm a little over halfway there.

Hope someone high up reads this so that it can be fixed it in a future patch.

I think the reason this had 60 views and no responses before mine is that no one agrees that amongst issues of lag, non-changeable characters, broken controllers and a lack of online BWT, that the metronome in practice mode is the biggest problem with the game. While I admire your willingness to use the practice mode to nail songs (instead of just complaining they're too hard like some people), the developers have much bigger fish to fry. :)

That's the best you could do?

Hey Vidwiz:

Can you give specific examples? I haven't ever experienced this issue, but I'd be happy to check it on a system on Monday (I too am a practice mode guy on guitar, since I'm a drummer in real life). My instinct is, as you guess, to say it's something with your configuration/lag, but I'd be happy to check it out.

You know how notes and half notes on the fretboard change now unlike GH? Maybe that or something to that affect.

You should check your calibration

Ok, a good example, on PS3, practice "Brainpower" on guitar set to hard difficulty about 70 percent (or other) speed, at the beginning. Another example is "Electric Version".

Yeah, I know, kind of lame, but it's honestly what's bugging me the most right now.

You should check your calibration

Don't feel it's calibration (tho admit I could be wrong) because it is a problem I only hear with my ears, the cymbal not lining up with the sound of the guitar I am 'playing', I don't perceive the problem visually.
