love that. lol. but yeah, good songs cannot save bad commercials. plus i've said this before but dont advertise a music game with a song that's NOT in the game. its just wrong, misleading, and going to piss off alot of people in the end.

This just in: Activision fired its creative team. The board of directors is now in charge of advertising and content.

I expect to see one of these with Gisele Bündchen in black lace lingerie within the week.

Heres the thing. say what you will about Guitar hero in general, but these are good ads. You know why? This. People are posting them. Its getting the word out. When penny arcade comments on it (which i dont think they needed to. i mean its a commercial) you know its successful. pointless or not, whne its seen on bill o'rielly, you know its successful. when people talk about your product, its a successful advertisement.

hate on it all you want, but the theme of this ad, if even overdone now, is just that, a theme thats consistent throughout the campaign. And because its so rediculous and even stupid, its getting people talking about their product. I really dont kow what Hiedi Klumm has done lately, but the sports one, its the biggest names of each athlete's sport. Corbin Blue, love him or hate him, is incredibly popular right now, with the high school musical phenomenon not wanting to die to any kid in general under 12, and many girls under 18 or so.

hate on it and make fun of it all you want, but as an advertising student, this is a great and successful ad campaign.

Successful? Srsly?
O.K. i will give you that, but creative, NO. Creativity seems to be the driving key to any product, and being an advertising student, you should know that marketing to an age group, that does-not know the movie that this came from is pretty redundant, while i will admit that the parents will get it, because they are familiar with the movie/song, children will not understand the meaning of it. Also, it does not make good advertising, when it is false, being that the song is not included in either game.

Oh and the "Super Model" one for "World Tour", while yummy in its own right, is just another "Sex Sells" add, and all of them miss the entire point of the game, The music/game play, as NONE of them seem to even be playing the game, or even highlighting the play-list. Pretty lame, and missing the point, in my opinion.

Why would they pick this song? Its not in the game and it doesn't even have a guitar part

because it's mimicking a scene from a movie

What kid in the age group their attempting to target doesnt already know about the guitar hero brand? and who cares if they miss the point of the game. sex does sell. and theyre proving it. who said ads need to be about their product. there are plenty of ads out there that have nothing to do with what their selling. and they are often the ones that are good. I mean its not that bad of a commercail. it shows celebrities using their product, even if theyre using it fakly. Also who cares if the song isnt in the game.

Im just kind of getting annoyed that rock band players are sooooooo angry at the commercials for some reason.... i mean its stupid. its a commercial. its selling a successful product. end of story
