City Shirt Earns you more fans?

Ok my neihbor who also plays RB swears that you get more fans if you wear the city shirt for the city that you are in. Anyone heard of this? It could be true since you get a city shirt in every city you go to. Please chime in with your thoughts.

For that matter, does having a "cool" or expensive outfit on stage earn you more fans? Is there any actual benefit to it?

Or could you play the entire BWT in your ratty t-shirt and torn newbie jeans and *still* get the same number of fans?

Personally, I think that investing in your image should have a positive impact on the way that the fans look at you ... but that might just be too much meta-game thinking for most people.

But from that angle, the "city t-shirt" idea sounds really nifty!
