However there are better music games that best Rock Band in my opinion like Guitar freaks & Drummania, I mean thats basically where they got the idea for the game, and I own both games, but my heart is still with Drummania (its alot harder, and has over 400 songs compared to Rock band).

But Rock band is still my runner up somewhere on the list.

We'll see. I still need assurance DLC will be consistent a year from now. Potential without execution is nothing.

why does Drummania suck, I bet you have never played it in your life (considering its never been released in the U.S.) The only way you could have played it is at the location test, or if an arcade imported the game, or you imported the game from Japan..

you could also hook up real drumsets up to the PS2 with a MIDI adapter and play.

Also dont worry the game comes out in February (arcades only), and Konami is hushing about about a home release (although they licensed the names Guitar revolution and Drum Revolution).

Arcade. Granted this is after a certain keyboard game with the same look got Americanized and hit PS2 leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

But yeah it felt kind of half-assed. Genuine, real, but lacking in any real...soul.

Also the other game you are talking about is beatmania. The American game sucked VERY badly, the Japan games are awesome however, Only if they took the songs from beatmania IIDX 14 GOLD and put them on beatmania U.S.... They would have won...

Well again Beatmania gave a bad first impression and the arcade Drummania just left me empty. Honestly GH would have done the same but the art attracted me and I eventually found depth. Maybe when and if Drummania is imported and on 360 I'll give it the same chance. Of course my RB drums better be compatible.

If you think Rock Band is the best game ever made, you seriously need to raise your expectations for what you get when you spend $170.


While I agree that just about everything on the game disc is perfect, I think the game is nearly ruined by two major problems.

1) The strum bar is a joke.

2) The requirement that even people playing on "easy" have to use the kick pedal to play the drums.


If it weren't for those two mistakes mad by Harmonix, I would be singing the praises of this game forever. As it stands, it's a broken product and I plan on selling is ASAP.

As for the OP. Maybe not the greatest game ever made, but certainly it's up there in my book.

Playing the metallica songs on drums on only hard were so ****ing intense I was sweating and actually getting into the music.

So amazing to be able to play a music game that actually requires some sense of rhythm...absolutely unmatched experience playing this game.

Now if I could play Lateralus, I would say it's the best game ever made.

The game itself is VERY cool. I never played guitar hero, so this is all fresh and new. Tons of fun.

Problems, my drums came DOA(green pad broken). I was so excited to use them and I can't register a hit on the green pad unless I wack the plactic rim on the bottom, and that doesn't even work now. Also the d pad on it doesn't work too good. The mic has lag in 5.1 surround mode and still lags a bit with 5.1 turned off. I am waiting for my guitar to break now :(. Every time I use it, I feel like some point its going to stop working and I am really going to be PO'ed.

I scoured the earth to find this dam thing in a store and finally got the last one at a Toys r US, 30 miles or so from my house. Had 4 days off and was excited to play it. Got some friends over and blam faulty equipment. I was so upset, what a waste of time. I don't know how they let this crap leave the plant. The pictures of the inside of the guitars makes me cry. I mean small pieces of FOAM used for springs?

What I have played with the guitar is VERY cool, but I am so worried about things breaking, I can't enjoy it. I look at my drums sitting there and I never even got to really us them. I was excited for the mic, but they didn't seem to test it with a 5.1 receiver or with the PS3. The game needs to be patched and fix any mic lag that they can etc. AND they need to recall a lot of those guitars and give us some guitars that will last more then a couple days!!

Drummania+XBOX 360=BAD! XBOX failed in Japan, and XBOX 360 is not doing to good either. Konami would never jump onto a filing platform like that. Plus I am pretty sure they are licensed with only Sony Entertainment for music games/bemani.

again, did you play Drummania? Its alot more realistic, I mean the drummania and pedaling is ALOT harder, and WAY more realistic. Plus the drumsets are... Well REAL Yamaha Drumsets built into the arcade basically.

I mean When I play Rock Band Drums, its does not seem very hard, Right when i put in the game I jumped to Expert, with some problems, but I fixed all of it in one day.

where did you play it there was only one place in America that had V4, and they only had it for a month (KONAMI was testing the game in America).

Also you may have played Percussion Freaks because that one also had American songs, however its VERY old, and was Korean (I think). It had more American songs then Drummania, but they were the same game.

no you did not play V4 sadly. You probably play a Purcussian Freaks machine though. Drummania V4 had MANY american songs, and had over 400 songs, not to mention online matchmaking, Session, World Cups, Signatures, and gamertags (all functions with e-amuse). You could also unlock songs as well.

The game however becomes near impossible, even with auto bass pedal you still may never pass DAY DREAM on EXPERT.

Here is a video of a guy playing that song on EXTREME (99/99), look how fast you have to play. Also he is not using the foot pedal, its just way to hard. The only person to ever achieve a perfect score on the song used a 3rd drumstick to hit the Cymbal...

Aside from all memebrs having to play expert to complete the world tour in a so called party game and no bwt online .My family and and freinds and I are having a blast with this game. AS a non hardcore button masher and music lover I beleive this game even with its issues ranks up as the best of all time. At least halo 3 doesnt make you play on legendary after 2 levels though . But overall great job you guys we love this game. Honestly i give this game a 9 out of 10!
