Contact Madcatz (http://www.madcatz.com/Default.asp?page=3). They make the cymbals and would be the ones needing to replace them if they're defective.

I had that problem too. Discovered after some trial and error that if you hit the cymbal above the center line and near the wing nut it doesn't register the double hit. You also get some bounce back on the hi hat as well.

I am having the same issue. Reeceived my set today ... and the one green is double hitting....yes I tried hitting the cymbal more towards the center and it does get around the double hits...but I do not feel that it was designed this way....crappy!

Do you have the cymbals tightened down really tight? mine had this problem when I first put the set together, but it was due to me cranking the wingnut screw on the top all the way. I loosened it up (so they hang loose, like real cymbals) and the issue went away.
Now my only problem is the green and blue jacks are causing bass hits every time I hit the green and blue. this is the drum controller though, not the cymbals, as I can use the cymbals in the yellow plug and both work fine there.
Thank god for the replacement warranty from best buy!

Try to calibrate the cymbals by tightening/loosening the wing nuts. Go to the main menu and scroll down. Now hit the yellow cymbal. If you move up two spaces then you are double hitting and need ajustment. Repeat for the blue. This works with all the cymbals. When its time to do the green just plug it in to the blue or yellow port and calibrate it. This helped me hope it works for you.
