As I scan the forums tons of people are having drum, mic, hub and guitar problems. I myself included in the guitar strum problem. I sent out for a new one. Just fearing in a few days of my new fixed guitar will break again!

Should Rock Band be Recalled?

Not if we have to wait even longer in Canada.

I personally think at least the guitars should for sure be recalled. Those strum bars are a time bomb waiting to break at any moment.

My strum bar is already showing signs of failure, and it seems fundamentally flawed to me. The way in which it registers a "hit" is just not likely to last over time. I honestly have to wonder if almost every single guitar is gonna have a problem at some point. Every single store demo I saw seemed to have a problem as well. Who would have thought that the home product would exhibit the same level of unreliability?

It is not all the guitars, it has only been a handful of people that have been posting. I had a busted one it is being handeled, and there is no reason for a recall....

I am not sure that the majority of guitars are broken. Most of the time, people don't go on to a forum and say, all of my stuff is working perfectly. People come on here, and they complain because something isn't working. These might be isolated cases, you never know.

The people who have working equipment aren't posting about it thus making failed equipment seem all the more rampant.

That said even if they recall my perfect-after-60-plus-hours-of-gameplay equipment stays here with me. :D

I imported my copy from Buffalo, and guess what - BUSTED strum bar after 8 hrs! I'm sure they'll have it all sorted by the time you get yours at retail here in Canada though.

Is there really that much of a difference between a recall and what they are doing now (replacing instruments for free with virtually no questions asked)?

If anything we might be better off -without- an official recall because this way they aren't completely flooded with everyone's replacement requests at once. At least the current replace-it-when-it-breaks method helps to space people's requests out a little bit.

While I understand the desire to vent if you have busted gear, your efforts are better channeled toward the various customer support options available to you.

It is in no one's interests for busted gear to be out there. (Fans who can't play and manufacturers losing money on returns) I would expect this issue is receiving the appropriate level of attention to satisfy all concerned parties.

You can't make that assumption though, because there are no facts to back it up. It's all speculation.

I also agree. I have been lurking over in the Rock Band forums on ScoreHero and the vibe there is much more positive. Sure, there are a few threads about broken gear, but most of them are just yep it broke and I'm getting a replacement- not the incessant whining and complaining that you find on here.
