The forums were awesome? Now it's a constant stream of people who only signed up because of their incredible rage, without the common sense to match. What are your favorite memories of the pre-launch forums?

I loved when we had nothing better to do than argue about the Creep radio edit, and if the words were "Please don't slow me down, only if I'm going to fast" in Reptilia.

I loved it when everyone blamed the "broken" guitars on pre-production demos and reassured everyone that everything was going to be perfect. My hardware works perfectly i have no clue why people are having problems.

Anyway, my favorite moment would have to be Cowman fighting Sean and lose a bet to sushi and had to change his sig...

My favorite memory is 10-21 (is that right?). I'll explain: A random thread (what it was about doesn't matter) was pretty much hijacked when everyone started posting pictrues of pretty hot models. That got pretty insane.

It's not that bad yet.

All we've done is trade the noob question threads (how wull game work wit no dubble base??!) with random gripes about hardware.

And I will wager the majority of these gripers will fade away for 2 reasons.

1 - They will get their stuff fixed/replaced. It is not in anyone's interest to have hardware issues. (unhappy for fans and costly returns for manufacturers)

2 - They will be frustrated and turn their attention to other games.

And I hope so Apples... it's kind of annoying seeing almost thread be titled "The guitar sucks!!!1!ONE!"

All we've done is trade the noob question threads (how wull game work wit no dubble base??!) with random gripes about hardware.

Let's not forget:

a) Five threads per page *****ing about the fan cap/fixed leader/inability to complete the game on medium for BWT from people who don't understand campaign modes in video games, despite there being a long thread on the topic and despite people being repeatedly corrected.

b) Two threads per page asking if the Les Paul works on the PS3 version despite there being a post nearing 70 pages on the topic. Optionally, one of these threads may be about using a Sixaxis or 360 controller to play the game.

c) Two or three threads per page *****ing about how the guitar sucks, and not from an "it doesn't work" perspective.

d) One thread per page complaining about the drums being too hard.

e) One thread per page complaining about the guitar being too hard.

f) One thread per page complaining about something to do with Rock Band and Canada.

g) One thread per page from someone asking why their microphone isn't working.

h) One thread per page asking about cheat codes or hyperspeed or how to unlock bonus songs.

i) The occasional thread still asking where Welcome To The Jungle is or why there isn't a Wii version.

j) Many threads per page expressing reviews of the game where there is a sticky for that purpose.

I've taken to peppering sarcastic remarks all over the place out of sheer disbelief. I miss the days when the posters had common sense and seemed capable of rational thought, although that's probably how they found the place.

Hehe I wasn't on the old forums but I saw that one---hehe to think I suggested Christian Rock Bands too----sad part is that, while FlyLeaf isn't bad there is other crossover bands (ie secular bands ran by Christians) that I would have much more had-----look up either

Rawkfist by Thousand Foot Krutch

Forsaken by Skillet

and tell me you wouldn't love to play the guitar and drum lines. Oh well, I'm So Sick sure isn't bad---LOL I heard that the lead singer blew out her vocal chords earlier this year and another band I am a fan of, Decyfer Down, had to fill in for Flyleaf for the rest of the tour---once you listen to the opening of I'm So Sick it isn't hard to imagine why.

Yeah, personally it bugs me that so many people are ticked at Harmonix over the PS3 guitar thing---I don't think Harmonix has anything to gain from preventing the full experience so I think they are telling the truth--not to mention I tried to start a thread with a link to Red Octane's contact section and it got totally overlooked because people would rather complain and flame these forums than do something that could actually get a change in the situation. Oh well.....

I sang "Im So Sick" the other night, and I am a guy...it was humorous.

Anyways, I also remember all that political sh*t GH2 brought into here...that was funky. I remember Joigga posting all that Soulja Boy crap, silly kids.

The forum is overrun with people who sign up for a day and post one thing then never come back, or people who just want to complain about Rock Band. The thrill of the wait is over...theres really not much to look forward to anymore other than which album comes next on DLC.

It is especially great when the avatar looks ultra masculine singing the female part LOL! I saw somewhere that an exclusive download pack for 360 GH3 included a Flyleaf song--was it the same one? I think tho this game will have a lot of community features once they get all they want up up hehe---that is why I signed up for the forums after I got the game---I think it will have very long legs even beyond DLC---man I hope Harmonix does a dancing game like this LOL--they'd kill DDR but Konami has almost done that already anyways!

I agree that these boards where a lot more fun to read before release. Now it's just a primal b|tchfest. To be honest, I don't think the problem is a widespread as it seems, it's just those who have been burned speak up a lot more and a lot louder than those of us with good equipment or cooler heads. Kind of equates the same way as motorcycle helmet laws. Those that want them gone make a lot of noise and you hear about it all the time. You never here people fighting for currently in place laws; why would you? (You might have to be a motorcyclist to get the reference, but I digress).

People need to stop *****ing here and go ***** to EA or whoever and get their crap fixed. *****ing here solves nothing and it is ruining these boards.

i didn't bash their religion until they started pretending i was. i bashed them because they wanted certain music simply for the fact that it's christian, rather than for being good music. i put becoming the archetype and august burns red in my setlist, not for being christian, but for being good music. when people come in and start going "hey we need some christian music in the game because our kids need to be moral and follow jesus" that pisses me off.

Just FYI---I am a Christian who agrees with you :-) I don't like bands who get promoted because they are 'moral' or 'Christian'---which is sad because most people who promote music that way look over the really good bands that are either totally comprised of Christians or have some Christians in them----never listened to Becoming the Archetype although a lot of people have tried to get me to hehe--they are death metal right?

Ditto. The whole conversation just went crazy, mostly because religion was involved, and partly because people went to the far extremes (like wanting Third day in RB, while another wanted no band that had a member that ever was even assumed to be Christian)

The other day me and my friends were high and went to Burger King to eat and then we remembered that my friend had what might possibly be the most homosexual ringtone of all time which would be SmAcK DaT by Akon. My friend threatened to do something terrible to me if I didn't stop calling him things like punjabi whore so he got the phone and played that damn ringtone. The noise that came out of that phone was so embarassingly *** that everybody in Burger King was looking at us so we started throwing the phone at each other until it ended up by some little kid's leg. Now mind you the song has probably repeated over four times already so the embarassment we suffered as a group was terrible, of course we only noticed once we sobered up. Does this have anything to do with your thread of remembrance?

This was one of my faves. GH2Master being railed for being a "14 year old anarchist" who had all the answers to life's little mysteries. Need help raising a child? Ask him! Need the answer to life? LMAO man, I feel bad for laughing since I am a Jesus Freak----but, honestly, I would like to see Decyfer Down, RED, Skillet, Safe Haven and Thousand Foot Krutch---not because they are fellow Jesus Freaks but because their music is actually good (kudos to guy who made earlier post with similar message--if it is good music throw it in!)

Honestly too tho man, a different topic, who would like to see some Trans Siberian Orchestra for XMAS music hehe!!!! That'd rule!

So most dictators use that Prince book? Hmm--never heard of it although I have heard the 'End justifies the means' thing---LOL never knew it was associated with Marx---funny thing, I think I have only ever heard it from people supporting things that the US did, which you would think US and Marx would be on opposite sides of the fence but oh well---and to clear the air I am not slammin the US there I am just saying it is comical because most people who use that quote in that way would probably crap themselves if they knew Marx popularized it---deviant minds think alike regardless of nationality I guess......

You want to know one thing I kind of like about these forums? I am a PS3 owner and normally get pissed at forums because jerk offs join, slam PS3 and treat people like me as an idiot for owning one. Here, you have thousands of 360 and PS3 owners and almost no flame wars on that front---a VERY nice change and probably one of the big reasons why I will stick around here----yeah people are flaming over the stupid guitar issue but I bet that will die down soon--Harmonix will take care of it!! BTW how many of you fellow PS3 owners are picking up UT3? Just reserved mine--you probably should if you want it too Joystiq said it will be in limited supply---can't think why Midway would do it like that unless it is actual physical limitations on how much they can print, but oh well.

I'm thinking about it. I had a pre-order for Haze but supposedly it was delayed. I know my game store will get one or two copies and I'll pretty much get one because at the game store they call me "The PS3 guy" because in a city of 100,000 people I'm apparently the only one that owns one. lol.

They are only going to have a limited supply because they were really trying to get the game out in 2007. They didn't want to push it back to Q1 2008. So they are at least getting some copies out and sticking to the 2007 that they promised and it was only about one month behind the PC release unlike the Orange Box .....

Just an FYI to you Zookey: the point was that Marx DID NOT popularize it. Machiavelli, who wrote the book, popularized it. GH2Masterwellalmost can't wrap his commy-head around the idea the world doesn't work exactly how he thinks it does, and refused to believe he was wrong.

I thought about this when picking up the latest release last week (going to the concert soon, yes!) It would have to be just the right track because of the vocal aspect of it but man, it would own. They should offer it as a free download as a "Christmas present."

Man, Zookey, you should have been here for the original Christian rock thread. It was insanity (I've been rocking to the music for years. panhead since the beginning baby!)

Those kind of people are always fun hehe. So was he one of those people who claimed communism? I ran into many people in high school who would claim communism, but if you talked with them long enough about it they would openly admit that communism can't actually work in a society of human beings (same with socialism, when Sweeden I believe tried it in the 80's it nearly shut the whole country down)---both socialism and communism sound nice but fall apart once people are in the mix. Long story short, I thought it was dumb these kids supported something they flat out admitted wouldn't work--I think they were trying to flaunt their intelligence so they could look better than someone else, otherwise known as a poser.

To Smidget: I am a relatively new Panhead--saw them in concert last year at a free event and was blown away---like mostly their newer stuff (Collide and Comatose) I think more of their Collide stuff would be good for RB, Comatose is good but is so much more instrumental (with orchestra stuff) that I think it wouldn't work as good. Have you heard Rawkfist by Thousand Foot Krutch? Man that song would be perfect for RB--high intensity on drums, guitar and vocals and adrenaline pumping!! So were those forums insane in a good way (fast paced, interesting) or bad (lots of people getting defensive and d**kheaded on either side of the fence)? I get frustrated sometimes by people on both sides. I run into Christians who say the only reason that most Christian bands aren't liked is Satan is blinding the people out there and that bands who are crossover (note--that means went from Christian to mainstream, like Skillet) or have some Christians in them but are secular are satanic----and that is nothing short of a joke. Then, on the other side, I run into people who immediately hate on anyone who is a Christian regardless if they are a phony jerk type or not---so if they find out a band has a Christian in it they flip a cookie and go nuts--which is funny because a lot of very popular secular bands have at least 1 Christian in them hehe-----but either way the only 'Christian' bands I like are ones generally that you wouldn't know unless someone told you---like Skillet, Thousand Foot Krutch and Decyfer Down------long story short there is a big difference between not being ashamed of your faith and cramming it down someone's throat and getting upset when they don't react the way you want.

TSO has new stuff??? man I need to check out iTunes again--and I only have 6 bucks on there...crap.

To jq715861: yeah I was so bummed Haze got pushed back--it it means more features, slightly better graphics or something along those lines I guess it is worth it--but man Free Radical owns and that game will too--I hope the add something emergent in there like a map creator or character creator but who knows. Yeah us PS3 owners got it up the rear on the Orange Box---did you hear a lot of people are calling it the 'Slideshow Edition' because EA did such a crappy job of porting it that the frames per second dips into the single digits? And, of course, Valve was too lazy (or rather, Gabe Newell too into 'I want to make money off a PS3 edition but have no respect whatsoever for my PS3 customers') to help so we got the shaft----oh well we got UT3, Warhawk and Resistance now and Haze and KZ2 to look forward too hehe!

Yes TSO would make a beautiful Christmas gift hehe! Part of me would want Carol of the Bells even though it doesn't have a vocal line, I guess you could cowbell the whole thing LMAO!

It's like that one kid in the class that gets constantly picked on but thinks he's cool. I remember this one tall lurch looking kid, he was such a dork and the way he walked was "limpish" so all the kids called him "Pimp Juice". He thought he was a total badass but really no one liked him. Sometimes I just want to wrap him up in a body bag, put him in my freezer and listen to him as he cries softly as I sharpen my butcher knife. Then when everything is nice and ready i'd take him out of the cold body bag and let him enjoy the steak I prepared. Why I would put him in the body bag in a freezer... Guess I was just trying to make a twist in a story :(

Oh please God let's do...I really find it hard to believe that there's no way of banning his IP set up on this board. He's really getting annoying and I generally just avoid his stuff, but it seems like every other thread is one of his. And of course everyone wants to feed the troll so they all end up hanging around the front page. :(

I'm sure this time they'll ban all his IPs. IP bans are like nukes, you can take out an entire area with AOL using IP bans.
