WARNING! WALL OF TEXT AHEAD!

Ok. I have a xbox 360 with a 20 GB HDD. I have about 4.5 GB left. I'm not sure how long that can last me. With Rock Band songs and maps for Halo, Gears, etc. And I want to install some games too. Since Christmas is coming up, I want to ask for one. Right now there's two options for upgrading. A 60 GB ($100)and a 120 GB ($150) Both are a ripoff, I know. I would get the 60 GB in a hearbeat, but it does not come with a transter cord to transfer data, but you can get one from Microsoft by mailing in a form for a free transfer cord. I'm not sure if its worth the hassle and wait. I would get a 120 GB, but my parents probally spend $250-300 on me for Christmas and there goes most of it just for a harddrive. There are more better things I would like instead. I could just spend my christmas money on the 120 GB too, but I had some other things in mind like a better connection (new wireless adapter which doesn't come cheap). So I don't know what to do. As of right now, I have the 120 GB HDD on my christmas list near the bottom so I'll probally won't get it. I could just wait it out and wait until I despartely need one. And hopefully the price will come down. So any advice?

If you've got 4.5 gigs left, then it should be easy enough to be patient until after Christmas. Who knows, you might get some holiday money or something, and that would make the purchase even sweeter. :)

Go for the 120 gig, there will be many more christmas's for ya.

And i thought the " More Better" part of your speach was classy. ;)

Getting a bigger hard drive is like getting a new pair of pants after eating Whoppers for 2 years straight.

Hah! You're lucky! I had to delete a bunch of stuff to DL the 20 free songs a while back.

I'm sitting at a few MB, but am getting the 120g for Christmas. $50 more than the 60g and twice the space, no brainer.

Both, like you said, are ripoffs, but there really are no other options. I could pick one up off of eBay, but that runs the risk of not having a transfer cable, and possibly getting a messed up harddrive.

You plug one end into your 360's USB port, the other into the new hard drive, and it moves everything over from the old hard drive to the new one. It's a very easy process.

For what it's worth, it'd probably be smarter to get a 120 "gigger" and not worry about the space, at all. I'm not sure how much you download, but the idea of spending money on a 60-GB HD, and then running out of space [again] seems... less than ideal, we'll say.

I'd personally play it by ear and wait until the Holidays are over. You may end up with some unexpected Christmas cash, etc. When you do get around to picking one up, though, I'd have to recommend splurging on the 120.

Going to have to agree with the above. If you're going to upgrade, you might as well do it right. Also, each game you install to the HDD with the NXE will usually take about 6GB per game, something else to consider. I've got 14GB free on my 60GB drive with only 5 games installed and a bunch of RB2 DLC.
