I've been on expert vocals for a while now and mastered it but I was wondering if I should move to singstar for more songs. How is the vocal singing compared to Rock Band?

Singstar's great fun, even more so when combined with booze, but i generally find it much harder to score well on than RB. that said, with no threat of failing, i generally play around a bit more, Singing the songs how i want to rather than strictly following the pitch indicator.

completely random rap and talkie scoring is the only negative point of the game.

Well I think Rockband_over pretty much summed up Singstar quite well. If I can add a bit more, Singstar is to me, more of play it and have fun (which indeed it is) with your friends and that's it. The game doesn't have any carrer mode or anything it's pretty straight forward. Altough you can go head to head with another player or up to 8 players can sing in "pass the mic mode", all of this offline of course.

But that does not mean that the game doesn't have any online features, the community aspect is one of the best things about Singstar and if you have a PS Eye then you can make your own videos, take pictures and upload them to Singstar online, then other users can view them rate them and vice versa. It's really cool stuff.

I'm very satisfied whith what this game has to offer, not all the music it has is to my liking, but then again not all the music RB has is either. There is something for everyone I guess.

Well I have a PS3 and I heard that the PS3 version also has a music store with songs from the old games and it has a couple that I really would love to sing. o hey LZ_69 you have it right? does the music store have Touch of Grey and Love will Tear us Apart?

Yes the Singstore does include some songs from the other PS2 versions of Singstar.

As for the songs you mentioned, I don't know actually or just don't remember. There's got to be like 500 songs in there, imposible to have them memorized, and since I'm at work right now I can't go in there and check.

You could go to IGN.com they have a complete list of songs for Singstore plus they give you the latest updates as well.

I ****ing LOVE SingStar. Just picked up the PS3 version this week, and am looking forward to picking up every single one of the PS2 games when I see them used or on sale.

Makes for some killer drinking nights, when you're a little tired of the Rock Band setlist.

Does this game use Master Tracks as well? Meaning you can actually mute the vocals? Also, could I use my Rock Band mic? I'm thinking of buying singstar used.

Well no need o buy singstar PS3. I found the PS2 Legends version that has a bunch of songs I wanted. Grateful Dead and Joy Division included. Now I need to know if the RB mic works with it.

Singstar is fun and you often get the music vids to the song if there's one available. I just don't find it as satisfying as doing vocals in RB. Singstar was HUGE in britain when it came out years and years ago. I've lost track of the amount of titles. But with RB and Lips I don't think it's doing so good these days. If you love singing you'll love it.

Has anyone one else heard anything more on the disc-swapping feature that the PS3 Singstar is supposed to be getting?

I'm really looking forward to switching out PS2 discs without having to reload them every time.

Not only are they master tracks but it's the original artist video. You can't mute the master vocal, you can only raise the volume of your own vocals.

As for the RB mic, you know? I never actually tried that. But I highly recomend that you buy the complete game, you'll want to have those two mics if you have friends over. Besides to this day I haven't seen a used copy Sigstar PS3 (stand alone game) for sale yet.

Nope, SingStar uses its own USB adapter (see here: http://www.gameinformer.com/News/Story/200610/N06.1024.1811.14732.htm ).

Not only that but you can use your RB drum's as a noise maker, just go into song option's and switch the sound to percussion, so much better than pushing a button.
