The more I hear about the game, the less likely I think a rhythm guitar part will be making an entrance. It sounds like they're sticking to lead and bass guitars this time around. I don't mind too much, but it could make some songs a little less fun if a rhythm part is more interesting than the bass.

Yup, it looks like it will be lead guitar, base/rhythm, drums and vocals, because for some songs there may not be a bass or it might be boring, similar to how it was in GH II.

one thing that disappoints me about Rock Band is that you won't be able to do (most) Doors songs because there is no bass, just Manzarek playing keys. Then again, Robbie Krieger did play bass on some songs, I believe, and a lot of songs have multi-track guitar recordings... but still, disappointing.

Hi Revolver, the reason I would prefer Rythm guitar would over bass is simply that the rythm guitar is so much more audible. Take GH2. If you play dead you get Rythm and Lead, and both are really easy to hear.

With the Bass on a lot of the songs I get the feeling that I am strumming for strummings sake as I can't hear the very low 'dum-de-dum, dum-dum-de-dum' you end up playin on a lot of the bass tracks.

Throw in your mate bashin' the crap out of the drums and sheila wailing at the top of her voice and the bass is (sorry, could be) an unattractive instrument in RB.

I have no idea if that was sarcastic or not hahaha, but all I know is that none of those songs are emo and they all rock out ****ing loud. Especially Just. That song is as badass as anything Ozzy ever put out, while still being alternative.

Yeah and exactly. I never wanted to talk about Radiohead. I just named them because they are a band with weak bass and great rythmn guitar. I could have said AC/Dc but I was just naming a band. I wanted to get back on topic.

I don't really like Radiohead. Their older stuff was decent, but now they have that up in your face, preachy U2 style. They are overrated as hell, and though I can respect them more than lots of bands, they hold no high shelf in my heart.
