Ok since I have been playing RB, my GH skills has deminished BIG TIME!!! I went to play the new Halo Montage (which was just ok) and I was missing notes left and right! I only got 3 stars and I have not done that since GH1!!! I think it is the window of accuracy between both games. Playing RB you hit the note right on due to the shorter window when in GHIII it is a little before. Also it could be the circles. Anyone else having this isssue? If I went online with GHIII right now I would be owned, when I stop I was undefeated in face off!! I would love to hear all responces.

why would you want to be good at that game anyways, its not even a TRUE guitar hero game its a joke.

I played Guitar Hero 3 again today.
I downloaded the Halo song.
I 5-starred it on expert.
Don't know what your problem is.

You shouldn't have any major difficulties in either game if you play with the rhythm of the song, not the visual clues of the notes. No matter where the note gem is on the screen, that green note will always be in time with the low note in the music! (as long as there's no lag!)
Don't know if this IS what's happening with you, but it's my best guess!

I downloaded and 5 starred it, it was easy. However, the whole time I couldn't get over how round the notes were. It looked so wrong. I missed a couple easy notes too. If it makes you feel any better I played Devil Went Down To Georgia right afterwards and failed right in the beginning whereas I always got to at least 60%...

That is, if you were even able to join a match online due to the horrible matchmaking system in Guitar Hero III.
On topic, no, I still play just as well as I right before I bought Rock Band (then again, they improved, since I've now finally learned how to two-hand tap the intro to Through The Fire And The Flames on expert...still practicing that solo though).

My problem is first of all the strat feels different than the xplorer. Second my gibson had been broken since day two and Activision has done nothing. Third the window of difficulty is way harder on RB than GHIII. So I have no problem as it takes getting use to again, and my and alot of my friends have abandoned GHIII for Rock Band. I have kicked major ass online as no one I have played had beaten me. So I am sure if I played GHIII everyday like I did before Rock Band came out, I would be fine being that I have 5 stared every song on GHIII already!!

man, I sold GHIII yesterday to get an x-plorer controller for RB. Totally worth it. =)

I loathe GHIII and the MJOLNIR Mix notechart was an injustice to the song (albeit easy).
GHII is still the best. But once RB gets that song, you know THE ONE (!!!) for DLC it'll topple GHII easily.

Which song?!
And yeah I had that problem. Round notes? This is outrageous, I can't believe it was ever allowed, it's wrong, improper, blasphemy!
I love the songs on GH3 and that Slash is in it... But really it's quite ****.
AND IS IT JUST ME OR IS THE DRUMMER IN GH3 CREEPY AND ROBOTIC?! That ****in guy scares the piss out of me...

Haven't gone back to it yet, but I probably will this week. I have finals to study for, so I will need some kind of escape.

Why don't you not post if you don't have something useful to contribute to the thread? Enjoying GH3 is not a crime, and by dragging the fanboi sentiments into perfectly good threads, you drag down the quality of the forums.
@ the OP:
I'll have to go back to GH3 and try it, I haven't played anything else, really, since Rock Band came out. I can see what you're saying happening, though, it definitely happened to me at first when I started jamming in Rock Band.

The Halo song is called Halo Theme MJOLNIR Mix.
I don't mind the notes so much as where they place them and the sh!tty HO/POs.

Why don't you manually calibrate RB so that you'll have to hit a bit early than default?
