More New Wave please, I have a 12-pack coming up in my DLC (that should be finished soon).

Is there a distinction between New Wave and Post Punk?

Anyway, last fm lists Gang of Four, Wire, and even The Fall as New Wave. Those are my nominations, if they are legit in the minds of the group (hard to believe The Fall and The Cars would be in the same genre).

Speaking of the Cars, Let's Go is a must for RB.

Edit: In all honesty, I'm not a big fan of Wire anymore. Substitute another vote for the Smiths. The Cure OK by me as well.

Holy crap, I forgot about this thread, because of how few replies it got. I'll update the OP with more bands and more links.

More Blondie, Go-Go's, Talking Heads and Psychadelic Furs are needed.

If we ever get A Flock Of Seagulls, the first song we get should be I Ran ( So Far Away ).

A-ha would also be nice.

:D
My New Wave Synopsis.

I am going to make a Waitresses thread tomorrow. You will immediately recognize one of their songs.

Two of their songs are fairly recognizable.

Also, your avatar is awesome.

Yeah, but everyone knows at least one, but probably don't know them by name.

For full albums, their debut is in my top 150.

Totally support this. I want INXS, XTC, and more Squeeze this instant Harmonix!!!!11 Personally, I also think that Bow Wow Wow's "I Want Candy" would be pretty awesome (if that's really new wave, though; remember it was going to be on Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's before it was dropped at the last second). Boomtown Rats' "Rat Trap" would work as well, no?

Yeah, really excited about "Love My Way."

As I posted elsewhere though, I *really* would have chosen Heartbreak Beat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaGetfRMz2I&feature=related) over Sister Europe. Maybe one day....

Hmm, I was psyched to see "Sister Europe" listed. Couldn't care less about "Heartbreak Beat."

Any and all new wave or post punk would be great. "Homosapien" by Pete Shelley is a good one. Might be all synths though.

Very nice call on Pete Shelley.
I'd also go for XL1 (http://www.last.fm/music/Pete+Shelley/_/XL1), the title track from his best solo album.
