It's so funny that everyone is still looking for this announcement and it's so obvious what it was.

Ok I have been following the big battle of the bands between the top gaming review sites...and I still don't know what exactly the big announcement that Gamespy is supposed to announce is either...

it has to be something about albums cause thats the only thing thats left unsaid, cause they did say that they would release whos next one week after the games release, and yet no info on that or pricing yet.

Not to sound demanding, but it was referred to as a "huge" announcement, and if its just the release date for the Metallica and Who's Next albums, I'll be a little underwhelmed.

If they announce which metallica album it is and when its coming out thats still kinda big news to me though... cause Id buy at least a couple songs off of most of their albums

My guess is that the forthcoming announcement has just not been made yet. I'm expecting it to be some kind of DLC announcement (take note that there's only two more weeks of known DLC as of now). It's not in the nature of HMX to just say something like that and then never give the winners any kind of exclusive announcement to break. I'm sure it's still coming at some time in the future. And if it's not, it would be kind of HMX to let us know that something went awry and that it's no longer happening.

That's what I was about to say. I remember the DLC schedule hadn't been released yet so we all assumed it was that. But gamespot ended up taking that.

The schedule for the beginning of 08 wouldn't really be a big announcement unless it involved certain big name bands (zep, AC/DC). It could very well be the Metallica "single to debut in RB" thing that's been heavily rumored.
