So, I've had the game all of about 4 days.. I've been only using the drums and with no prior drumming experience I've actually increased quite well in only 4 days of play.. I'm on the final tier in medium solo tour now.

So, to the topic of my post.. I originally thought that green grass and high tides on medium was a challenge.. It only took me all of 7 tries and about 2 hours of practice to finally get it.. and admittedly so I had to find a work around to even survive the song. Hint: If you have trouble transitioning back into the fast 2/4 beat charge up overdrive before getting back into that section and don't deploy it.. it gives you a break if you find yourself constantly losing time for some reason.

So I survived that.. got through the rest of the songs.. Tom Sawyer wasn't even that bad.. and then I found the Drummer's free bird.. Run to the Hills. That gallop pattern is nothing like the previous patterns and it requires something a lot of new drummers probably don't have -- Speed. So I'd practice for a little while... try it.. get so far.. fail.. go play in Band Quickplay online for a bit.. etc..

Finally.. I get back and try to play the song again.. I make a few attempts and then try to practice some more and I finally got it down.. so I go and make my final attempt for the evening.

Now I would like to note that all in all.. I've been very easy on the Bass Pedal, using it as it was intended and not being rough with it at all.. I begin the song and make it all the way to about 80% into the song. I go for my next bass note and the thing feels awkward under my foot I try to push again and it stays sprung down.

I pause the game and look down at the pedal.. It's broken off cleanly at the pivot point. Without a bass pedal I'm essentially screwed. And it's not even worth it to try and complete the song.. so that brings about my next point.. YAY For Plastic!

I hope since HMX was talking about coming out with 'professional' versions of the equipment for 'enthusiasts' that they at least come out with a bass pedal of metal construction. I'd pay the 50 some-odd dollars just to be able to have a good pedal.

Anyway.. that's it.

Try one of these:

I did the bracing for my HMX pedal and intend to buy a pedal from guitar center today and the equipment from Radioshack to configure myself a double bass pedal.

yeah the pedal looks liekke it uses normal electronic pedal equipment. Hell it uses a stadard mono 1/8 patch cord. SO many cool hacks are possible. and yeah my pedal feels a bit flimsy now after soo much use.

that second link you posted looks great, i think i might do that anyway. i try to take it easy on my pedal which kinda hurts when i get to faster parts.

@mmorgan184

I would love to do that (Bracing).. But it broke at the PIVOT point (i.e. - Where the metal rod is that keeps the pedal mounted to the base of the setup).. not half way in the middle of the pedal. And the sad part.. *thinks* I spent all of maybe 10-14 hours on my drumming career in total.. before the thing even broke.. And that was under proper and recommended usage.

Although, that setup with the actual bass pedal looks pretty good.. might have to try that after the 30th.

I was viewing the other threads.. seeing that people think the UK/Canadians are getting skunked.. honestly I think we got skunked because we're all here being guinea pigs to find out how durable the instruments are..

No offense HMX, as great of a game as this is.. I'd much rather prefer a durable piece of equipment.. And although money doesn't grow on trees for me being in the military.. I'd be willing to save up for a 'quality' drum controller that could withstand more than 10-14 hours of performance.. I still have my GH2 guitar and it hasn't yet skipped a beat (aside from my own blunders).. So, although I'm stoked at the game itself which is great.. I think the price we paid for the quality of equipment was almost a bit of an ironic statement.

you can just go online and look up any synth drum kick pedal... I have replaced the pedal with my kit's...works great and dosen't kill my foot.

green grass and high tides ticked me off, because i was like 7 minutes into the song, on medium, and my friends little brother started yellingat his mom so i got distrcted and died.:mad:

Honestly, If I could find one I'd replace it.. but at this rate.. I'm honestly just thinking of spending 300 dollars and just getting myself an actual drum kit.. I won't score any points.. but I'll sure as heck sound authentic :p
