What is game looking for on the talking parts? I am playing on hard and do fine on almost all of the songs I've tried but frequently I'll get to a talking section and blow it??? The rest of the song is looking for timing and pitch, which I do fine. Isn't speaking just looking for timing? I don't see the correlation in what I'm missing.
damn, sorry, just saw an earlier post on this sorry for the waste of space

Are you talking about the "spots?" Slap the mic as if it were a tambourine for those.

You will see lines after words, like "It's---------"
To get the full points for it you don't just say "It's" you have to draw it out like "Iiiiiit's" or "It'sssssss".

These sections are looking for timing and consistent tone. Phulcrum has it right -- even if it's a short word you have to hold the sound through the dash, completely. The timing is judged MUCH sharper and harsher than on normal singing sections here, so you have to make sure you enter and exit the syllable precisely.
Even with that, the judging software can be a bit sketchy, particularly on really short phrases. The Steven Tyler Spazzes Out sections on Train Kept Rollin' usually kill my combo because no matter how quickly and precisely I do them they don't register fast enough with the game. So, don't be surprised if you get combo stops; keep your Overdrive handy for building back up after that happens.
