Part of the requirement of making Xbox 360 controllers, is that they have to be PC-compatible as well.

Now, I don't know about third-party ones, but all Microsoft, Red Octane, and Harmonix controllers will work perfectly as PC gamepads...

I even rigged up an Xplorer in 3D Studio Max, so that the a biped will lean in directions, based on guitar tilt, strum up and down with movement of the strum bar, and press his four fingers against the neck, based on the usage of the first four fret buttons. It was pretty awesome.
