I like you set list, mostly because there are songs I've heard/know. I think people are forgetting that Harmonix is out to make money. (Can't put out songs/games if you your not making money) I may not like all the bands listed or even included in the game. I know most of the songs and thats what makes it a fun game.
In the songs I'm listing I tried to keep in mind, They may not be songs I like but I think they would sell well on RB and still be fun to play.

You say for the kids so I'm asuming that you mean my age group
I'm 16, My Chemical Romance Blows, they are so awful that I can't explain it
If youre gonna make fun of my age group get it right
Chiodos or Atreyu :)
I also like some of your other bands listed like Velvet Revolver, OLD Green Day (no new please), AC/DC ( to an extent), White Stripes, Metallica, and Smashing Pumpkins

Although PWM was in Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s, it could be DLC, since War Pigs and Synchrinocity II are DLC.
Other than that I like it :)

i like both lists. pretty much the entire listing. not saying i like every song but i could see the value in having them in the game. some diehard metal fans will not admit that a few Country songs rock just a little.
I am a child of the 70's, hair metal headbanger in the 80's etc. i like a wide variety of music and enjoy playing some of the "odd" songs in these games.

I'm kind of disapointed i see very few people supporting new rock to me thats dissapointing
I understand you want old rock but understand some of us don't i hope HMX splits it to about 50/50 because i refuse to download about half the bands listed above
No offence to you as you wouldn't download most of my music either but to overload it with one era of music isn't really fair
WhiplashTW

i agree that overloading one era or another is a bad move. to me good music is just good music, no matter when it comes from. what makes music "good" is up to each individual to decide. i like from the 70's up to today.

agreed a total overload is stupid and unfair...but 50/50 probably isnt fair either...harmonix has to look out for themselves and provide songs that will make them the most money in downloads...and classic songs will probably accomplish this better

No, we support new rock that is GOOD. You idiots just want crap. Whenever someone posts a Muse topic no one complains.

@Church0070
I am new here and i haven't seen anything you have listed or asked for so i can't directly comment on it. as for you saying that from your side most of what's listed in this thread is crap i can comment on.
When i look over the two listed playlists i see a collection of bands that not only make great music, they play it with feeling. nothing in those lists would be my favorite, some i don't even like. I can however see where the songs listed would fit perfectly in this game.
Sweet Home Alabama for example. Lynyrd is a group of excellent individual musicians, when together they are an outstanding band that makes Great music. nothing too fancy, just a great song. i could see my family playing that here as a group and loving every minute of it.
this should not be about a favorite group, song or genre. it is about songs that offer something to each band member. a good guitar riff, pounding bassline, decent vocal and of course a little something for the drummer. the game is packaged as a group event.. the songs should show that.
some new rock really does all that very well, some just doesn't. some are still great songs i suppose, but maybe not the best for this game design.
just my opinion. (probably wrong)

Sweet Home Alabama would make a great song for RB but some of what's being requested wouldn't such as Pink Floyd
I would buy Sweet Home Alabama even though I don't like the song because of the RB fit but there are new bands that people don't give a chance
Atreyu - Becoming the Bull (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Fa74btBwVI)
Atreyu - When Two are One (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D516ogI1K3Q)
Chiodos - Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on the Creek (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bg1dF4TpI0k)
3 songs perfect for RB from 2000's that no one will even give a try.....why personal preference.....Bias....just to be idiotic....all those could be applied to everyone on this forum even me
No one can forget how the band first appealed to them such as Atreyu....These are from the new cd and you can hear the vocals

I listened to the first minute or so of each of those songs. i could honestly see those as being fun to play. perhaps a little challenging even.

I'm not saying these wouldn't be good for RB, but the only song to get air play on the rock station here is Atreyu - Becoming the Bull and it on madden 08. So I'd be ok with that one.

airtime on radio doesn't always mean good song
ex: Soulja Boy

Maybe so, but the more people that hear it, the more people will buy it, the more likely it will get added to RB.

True, but Chiodos was on Warped Tour one of the biggest rock tours, so yes people have heard of them

Dear God my thread has turned into a "classic rock is better/worse than new rock" argument. :(
Classic rock gets just as much airplay as new rock does. But classic rock is more recognizable, and those will sell better. People have very picky tastes with new rock, and that's a dangerous ground to go in. You really don't know people's opinions on certain bands/songs because everyone is split on those, which is why there isn't much of it in RB. But with classic rock, it's universal whether a song is liked or not, making it easier to tell if the DLC will sell.

But that is also risky when you get people like me who want and crave new rock and won't download a majority of oldies
You can't satisfy everyone so keep the differences coming i want to see more 2000's songs!

I think everyone in this forum knows what you want, judging by the other threads. The title of this thread says "A Classic Rock Fan's Setlist". You only needed to make your point once, and move on.
Time to get this thread back on track.

Now that a double-bass is easy to get, I add two great metal songs to the list:
Holy Wars... the Punishment Due - Megadeth
Angel of Death - Slayer
