ITT: Post (in your opinion) the most underrated songs by your favorite bands and musicians. :) Don't just post, discuss!

Mine: Led Zeppelin's "Down by the Seaside." It's such a chill and happy song. I love Page's work on this.

i agree 100% with "sappy". it's been one of my favorites ever since i first heard it (around 1993 or '94).
when my best friend called me on the phone and played it nearly flawlessly on his new guitar i was jealous beyond words.

To start out, Cinderella Man by Rush have always been one of their stronger songs. Incredibly memorable and has some of the best lyrics that Geddy did for Rush.

Nice pick with Down By the Seaside. I've always loved that song, one of the strongest on PG in my opinion.
I'd say anything post-Signals by Rush is terribly overlooked.
One album I've just now been able to appreciate after a few years of being a huge Rush fan is Hold Your Fire. "Prime Mover" is one of my favorites from that record:

As a fanboy of Modest Mouse take the following statement as severly slanted: Modest Mouses entire catalouge is underrated except for a few exceptions. Float On, Dashboard and Little Motel are all appreciated in the mainstream about as much as they should be and Ocean Breathes Salty and Dance Hall are overrated.

Is Hey, Hey What Can I Do Underrated?

It sure is by Zeppelin, it was the B-side to Immigrint Song and could only be found there for 20 years! I love it though!

Does the entirety of Dream Theater's Systematic Chaos count? If not, then just "The Ministry of Lost Souls."

Well, kind of. Up to the mid-nineties it was a rare B-side, but when Zep released the remastered box set (along with Traveling Riverside Blues) it became a classic rock radio staple.

I wouldn't say it's a radio staple (like just about all of the album commonly refered to as Led Zeppel;in Four) because it gets less play than others.

But then again, I never hear Iron Maiden on the radio and A21 hears them all the time, go figure.

really? i used to hear Crazy Train about 5 times a day on 97.9 FM in Chicago, and all the radio stations here play Sabbath and Dio as well

The whole Moon & Antarctica album is pretty underrated.

definitely.

their previous albums are hit and miss for me, but moon & antarctica is basically the reason i consider myself a modest mouse fan.

everything afterwards ranges from okay to terrible for me.

though i value the function my fridge is currently serving, i'd consider making a trade for one that blared sunn 0))) on command, particularly if it focused on "black one" and "domkirke".

I'm going to say most of The Presidents of the United States of America's work. Outside of their first album nobody seems to know they exist and as a big fan it gets old hearing people only referring to Lump, Peaches, Kitty, Dune Buggy and Feather Pluckin' when I mention The Presidents. They have five studio albums, people. Pay them respect and listen outside of their first album, You'll be glad you did. The name of this song is Some Postman. Turn your volume up and enjoy!

It would be an honor to get added to a fellow B-52s and AFOS fan's friend list. There's a distinct lack of appreciation for classic New Wave in these parts.

I've never heard When You Were Mine mentioned by anyone outside Prince's fanbase, but I definately agree with the other two.

This one confuses me. "Sanctuary" has always been a live staple for Maiden.

"22 Acacia Avenue" by Iron Maiden, people typically forget about it when talking about the Number of the Beast album, but, for me, it's up there with "Run to the Hills" and "Hallowed be thy Name". Then I'd say "Sweet Lady" by Queen, even when I hear Queen fans (the one's that love Great King Rat and Ogre Battle) talking about their more hard rock songs, I don't hear this one brought up much. Also, the entirety of Judas Priest's "Sad Wings of Destiny" album seems pretty under appreciated.

Any song on Red Hot Chili Peppers' Blood Sugar Sex Magik album.

Yeah Under the Bridge and Give it Away are great, but I'd rather listen to Breaking the Girl or Sir Psycho Sexy, and All of the B-sides from the album are radio worthy in my opinion.

Everything they did BEFORE that album was their best material, imho.
